Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition, who's going to buy?

Does the GoG download have higher resolutions to play with?
The GoG version are usually the exact same than the original, with only the DRM removed, so I'm pretty sure there is no change in resolutions.
But there are free mods easily findable on the Internet to change the resolution of Infinity Engine games (BG, Torment and the like) if you want it.

There is little in the expanded edition that seems even remotely interesting. DLC is something that will tend to make me run away rather than attract me, and the "content made by some of the original creators" is way too vague for me (especially if it ends up being the terrible "Ascension mod" or the like).

The original game is for sale at 10 bucks on GoG (and yes, it's digital download and without DRM, for people like PeteAtoms that dislike using CD ^^). Until this project brings enough to the table to be better than this deal, I'm going to be "meh".
What's the highest supported resolution, would be hot to play at 1800p.

According to the makers of this mod (still in beta, but working AFAIK), "any resolution with more than 600 in width and 800 in height".

Playing with BGT allows you to run the original in a higher resolution.

Also just playing with BGT is the best way to experience the series IMO.

Yes the GoG version is DRM free ect, but reason they're doing this is to test waters and see if people want Baldur's Gate 3 or Enhanced Edition of Planescape: Torment, since second one my favourite game ever, I'll readily support this.

Whether or not it is going to be a HUGE improvement over the version at GoG, I'll still get it. I want to see Planescape and Icewind Dale, but mostly I want them to succeed so they can work on BGIII or make a brand new IP with it.

One of the great things I'm looking forward to is the digital download. I can't stand having 5 or 6 discs for each game. All that disc swapping is annoying too.

Am I the only one that's never played a multiplayer game yet? Is there only one Bhaalspawn or is each PC a Bhaalspawn?

I only played a little bit of chapter 2 multiplayer with my brother for one day. It was fun, just hard to coordinate our times.

Anyways, I never heard of this, but I'll most likely get it (unless they really screw things up by making it too much an action game). I'd love to play multiplayer with anyone, but my times are kind of weird.

I'll get it, if only to increase the chances of there being a Planescape: Torment Enhanced Edition at some point.

I'll wait and see what other say about it before making my mind up, but I'm probably not going to bother unless the "new content" is very good. I've got the GoG version, and with TuTu to give me the BG2 engine, and numerous other mods to add characters, areas etc, I'm pretty much covered.

I have multiple hard copies of Baldur's Gate, as well as the D&D Collection from Gamer's Gate. :)

Heh, I've got the one hardcopy. 5 CDs (plus 1 for TotSC) in a stupid unfolding cardboard case that results in discs all over the floor more often than not. Hence why I picked up the GoG version. :p

Got two copies of BG2 though. Lost the first one, then found it about 2 weeks after buying a replacement...

I have the classic blue and brown three-fold cardboard case for BG:TotSC, as well as the double DVD edition of the BG trilogy. I really liked some of the internal scenery, especially the wealthy houses and the Harper stronghold.

I've got the cloth map for BG2 at home somewhere, along with the CDs. Not sure if I've got BG1 anywhere, but Icewind Dale is around somewhere too.

As long as it's fairly cheap, I'll probably pick it up.

Unfortunatelly they seem more keen on making an Icewind Dale EE. I mean don't get me wrong, I like ID, but PS: Torment is on a whole other level in my book.

Has anyone actually seen screens from the EE though? And no, I don't mean the inital screens that basically showed the original version of BG, I mean new ones that show off the supposedly beefed up interface and high res graphics. The game was supposed to come out this summer and we still haven't even actually seen it...

I've bought this game too many times to buy it again

There now an official forum on the site for it

baldursgate.com

You can join forum with new details, google+ detail or facebook.

No new news as of yet.

There is a new countdown timer at the website.

6.5 hours left, I wonder what the news is going to be. Probably answers to "when can I get it" and "what does it cost" :p

Looking through the forums, it looks like the scheduled release date is September 21.

Ahh, Heathcliff, why must you be soooo ahh-gravating?
