[R&F] Based on the new features - which civilizations and leaders should be introduced in R&F?

They wouldn't be my first choice for the same reason people argue against Zenobia (rather unfairly, IMO, because I would say she would represent Syria/Aram, not Palmyra, but I digress): the Shawnee really weren't very significant aside from Tecumseh's very brief revolt. For someone new from the East I'd much rather see the Powhatan led by Powhatan (another big personality) or the Choctaw led by Tecumseh's rival Pushmataha.

The Shawnee-Miami-Delaware coalition had the biggest military victory of Native Americans over Americans in U.S. history. The U.S. 933 of 1000 soldiers killed, injured, or captured including most of the military officers on active duty. In one battle, the Shawnee (primarily) destroyed a quarter of the U.S. army with a casualty rate of 97.4%. Indian casualties were reported at 61, but there's a chance that's exaggerated to hide the scale of the defeat. I'm currently reading Autumn of the Black Snake, so it's fresh in my head. Tecumseh is just more famous than Blue Jacket, so I think he's more likely as the leader.

Could a Mayan queen be the leader Anton said plays with the age system in an interesting way?

Edit: The rage in the community will be red hot if Firaxis used Pocahontas lol

Elizabeth Warren as leader of the Powhatan.

Donald Trump instantly denounces her. :p

I'm pretty confident most of the Native American activists would be angry too. If it's a Disney-fied version, things could get really ugly.

Palenque is still a City-state which makes it likely that the Mayans aren't coming in Rise and Fall. It would have to be another Native American Queen or someone outside the Americas to fit this description.

Antananarivo, Vilnius, Auckland, and Palenque are still City-States, so no Madagascar, Lithuania, New Zealand and Maya Civs in Rise and Fall.

Antioch is a new City-State, probably replacing Amsterdam. Doesn't mean the Byzantines aren't likely to appear in R&F in my opinion. They still have plenty of City names to use for them. It does seem like a strange choice to replace A'dam. I was expecting a European city.

Hannibal Barca is still a Great General, either Carthage is not in R&F or the Carthaginian leader is someone else (like Dido, again :p).

Ottomans are basically confirmed since Byzantium and Hittites both have a city-state in their realms, and i can't believe we won't see an "Anatolian civ", since both Ottomans and Byzantium will make it into the game at some point. Byzantium and Maya's both could have had female leaders, so it makes civs with possible female leaders also more likely.

If Carthage isn't spotted as a City state there is a good chance Carthage is in.

Eh, I think that's still far from "basically confirmed". Basically confirmed was Mongolia with the city name in the ingame-guide.

Someone made a list of all the city-states that were seen last week but i can't find it. We need to update it.

And Carthage being in, is a possibility but it is also far from sure. Would they take the exact same leader as in civ 5. I don't think Dido was an icon. Or would we see a new Carthaginian leader?

95% sure then. I just can't imagine they're not in this exp pack.

Maybe Hannibal Barca's father, Hamilcar is the Carthaginian leader this time?

I don't think Antioch being a city-state precludes the Byzantines. Granada would normally be on Spain's city list, but it coincides with Spain as a city-state.

Yes, especially since the Byzantine empire isn‘t even the civ that comes to mind when reading Antiochia.

Yeah, Antioch has changed hands so many times in it's history. It's not a definitive Byzantine city. Before, it was Roman, before that Seleucid, and so on.

I still don't think they would include both the city-state of Antioch and Byzantium in the same expansion, but they will probably be included in the next one and they don't have to remove Antioch. The Turks would be outraged if they don't include the Ottomans (they probably still are because they won't have Ataturk :D ), and the unique district is probably a unique commercial hub (the Bazaar). It's probably the only obvious civ left over. And the Byzantines is also a bit too Greek-like to include in this stage.

I would say the final civs could be:

Ottoman Empire
Inca
Canada
Native American civ
(Iroquis would fit the features well)
Georgia
(the soldiers of trailer)

Still no Italian city-states spotted so Italy or Genoa, Venice etc. could be also possibility..

No African civ this time around I think!

Indeed, it was until the Vikings DLC (I've got a pair of save games with a spanish city called "LOC_CITY_GRANADA")
