Yeah that's right mofo Battlestar Galactica's 3rd season starts soon on the Sci-Fi channel. Anyone else here excited with anticipation?

WTH was that ending last year? It's gotta be some sort of dream sequence because if it's real then how is the Galactica going to strike back with a skeleton crew?

Do you think Baltar will finally commit to being a Toaster or is he just going to continue to act out of fear and lust?

Nope, it was 'real'. There will be a resistance movement on New Caprica and in second or third episode, humans will leave it. It is said that the 3rd season is going to be pretty dark and depressing.

Baltar is on nobody's side, only his own. I really like the way this character is portrayed.

I already got tivo set to record it... starts Friday doesn't it?

Love those posters Winner! :goodjob: Starbuck is hot but I've always had a thing for brunettes so Boomer does it more for me.

So it's real eh? Hmmmm....that should make for a very desparate struggle. I still have a little doubt about how this season is supposed to shape up but given the producers track record I'm sure they won't let us down.

Paradigne: You're right the first friday in october.

I await it with bated breath. :)

I can't wait, even though it means no Stargate for a while. Those little webisodes are helping take the edge of however.

Did you see the Webisodes? Col. Tigh leads the resistance together with Tyrol. Some minor characters are also present, for example Jammer and Duck.

My TV stations just started to show the miniseries. I've still got to watch Season 1 and 2

Great show tough! Loved the massed nukage of humanity oh and of course the hot robot blonde in heels.

BSG is a very interesting show; this season should be good. They'd better have a good way of fixing the weird ending last season had. If anyone can do it, though, they can.

The webisodes are nice, but no substitute for the real thing.

Actually, the last season's ending is a great story booster. As RDM said, they needed to make a new enviroment for new plots, you simply can't make good stories about fleet being in the middle of nowhere forever.

This season is going to deal with terrorism, occupation, torture, religious fanatism, collaboration and all the things we know from the present day world.

Battlestar Galactica is one of my top 3 show. One thing, however, annoys me to no end: they're supposed to be only 45,000 humans, and yet they have a medias industry that would put a nation of millions to shame. I mean, they have at least 3 TV stations, and every press conference is filled up with dozens of journalists. What is it, Capricia was a breeding place for journalists?

We'll see after a couple episodes. If they succeed in keeping it fresh and interesting - and I hope, and think they will - then it was a great story booster. If it's awkward and bad, as I am somewhat afraid it will be, then it will have been an awful mistake. We'll see.

Yep. I like how they use some things from the real world, like those general concepts, without becoming too preachy. (At least so far.)

And am I the only one who thinks Tigh has totally lost it in the webisodes so far? Hiding weapons where he did, intending for them to be caught and innocents killed? I never thought I'd start to sympathize even a bit with Cylons....Which just goes to show how good they are at creating good characters, and a good storyline. ;)

No I didn't but I'll check them out. ;)

Elrohir I share your same outlook. Hopefully though they won't disappoint!

I imagine there was quite a few journilists covering the conversion of the galactica to a museum. Wasn't Aaron Doral giving a tour of journalists at the start of the miniseries and most them were getting back to Caprica on Colonial Heavy 798 (later Colonial One) when the Cylons attacked.

Winner love the Cylon times, you mind if I copy that?

Yeah Im psyched. I just spent the last week burning season 2 from my DVR to disk, so im prepped and ready to go. I've been watching the Resistance webisodes religiously (excuse the pun). In fact I should go check out the latest installment right now.

I think the explanation for that is that alot of journalists were on the Galactica for its decommissioning/museum conversion and were trapped onboard when the holocaust occurred shortly thereafter. Im sure any journalists on the Pegasus were tossed out an airlock a long time ago.

Wolfe beat me to it.

That's why I love BSG - no moralistic b/s. If this was SG, they would bore me to death with their "it-is-right-to-sacrifice-few-in-order-to-win-a-war" nonsense.

Tigh is simply a tough officer who knows what to do. As he said, war is messy and people die in it, good people, nice people... :)

Pegasus has to get blown up soon. The name of the show is Battlestar Galactica and it's supposed to be on its own in a desperate struggle. I don't like the other battlestar being there.

And I agree with what he said; but not necessarily what he did. I would say that there is a difference between fighting a guerilla war, even one where you neccessarily hide inside a civilian population, and deliberately set up civilians to die. I don't see a moral difference between what Tigh did and simply shooting 10 people on the street; you have to deserve to win.

Maybe that's why I like this show. It makes you think about "stuff". :)

They should have taken out the Pegasus rather than the Cloud Nine.
