All Things Star Trek

I just finished Star Trek Lower Decks...man what a show!, what a great ending!
Now on to Prodigy...I am not sure when to watch Short Treks but from what I gather over reddit it's probably better to watch it along or before Discovery.

I am mid 1st season of Prodigy and I like it, though I wasn't a fan of Dal at the beginning, he is growing on me, Gwyn has been my favourite from day one, my wife fell in love with the show the moment that beautiful hologram of Janeway materialised and she heard Kate's Mulgrew commanding voice once again, also she wants a Murf plushy:lol:...it's hard not to binge watch 3 episodes in a row due to the cliffhangers. Loving it!

Just finished ST Prodigy. Way better than I expected. Never did I really resonated with the would be Dal MC, but Gwyndala shines through with a good backstory and great character development. The Vau N'akat are beautifully realized as a civilization. Good twits all around, great use of cherished ST characters.
On to to Picard, I expect great things!

So... I am about to finish the first season of ST Picard...the Butlerian Jihad:scan:. (another mental note to read the nu Dune novel dedicated to that great plot device Frank Herbert used in the originals).
Ok...first 3 episodes where like...what's this!? A Holonovel by The Doctor called Picard the golden years!? I mean it's still better then an episode of Riker lying in a biobed flashing a series of past events but that shouldn't be the measuring stick....
I am glad I stuck to it because (not that my wife would allow to watch something else instead:lol:) I got to see Hugh, and Seven again (Jeri Ryan is the definition of ageing like fine wine:love:) although I wasn't very impressed with the Sarah Connor impression I guess she somehow grows into it (the scene when she comes to the rescue of the ninja kid and following embrace was a funny moment:lol:).
If you stick to the show a bit more you also get to see Riker and Deanna, and then I think that Frakes and Sirtis should be heading a new ST show and not a geriatric Patrick! I can see his effort and it makes me sad:sad:, also he seems more depleted then Shatner.
Highlight you get to see another Soong (what, again!?) and you're okay with it because Brent Spinner shines in every ST performance.
What about the new guys? Well Rios and Raffi are kindda interesting, Dr. Jurati freaks me out on every scene (kudos for the great acting that's some good disturbing). The bad guys are somewhat good specially Narek's sister:blush:...can't be bothered to check her name now.
All in all maybe I was spoiled after watching two animated series in a row before Picard. But Prodigy also kindda took their time playing out.
There is some ST in Picard but it can get very dull and boring...but without the charm of TOS or the ingenuity of TNG. Recommended for ST fanatics...or trekkies...

Whilst I agree that it was very strange to see Sir Patrick as a lead actor again in his 80s, Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis are now 72 and 70 respectively. I very much doubt that they will be heading any new shows at their time of life, even if they wanted to.

But they looked pretty good at the time their scenes were shot for ST Picard.

Not that I disagree, but season one was filmed nearly six years ago and first aired just before Covid.
