Hmm, does anyone know how I change settings and stuff on the v5.04 concil (forgot the name currently ) or somethin' like that? Like I set the power it uses to 10% but after I realized that would take a eon to complete how do I crank it up to like 50% or like 80%?

Thats the most important concern I have right now but if anyone could also please provide a kind of little guide to changing settings around in case I wanted to fool with F@H in the future that would be warmly received as well.

Yeah, if you're on 10% it will take a real couple months to complete a work unit. I've set my own personal workstation to 90% and have noticed no performance difference at all.

If you go to Start -> Run and type in the name of the folding executable including full folder path (in quotes) and add -configonly (so it'll look like the following, if you have the same folder path I do, which you probably don't):

"C:\Program Files\Folding\FAH504-Console.exe" -configonly

It should give you the same rundown of options as you got the first time. Options in brackets are now default, so if you (say) just hit enter at "Team [47958]:" it'll keep you on TeamCFC. After you've done it for the new settings to take effect I believe you need to either restart the FAH service, or if you don't know how to do that, just reboot the PC.

I'm not certain of the above, because I thought I'd switched all my Radioactive_Monkey folding machines over to IglooDude, and I either missed one or I've done it wrong, since RM is still accumulating points.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I'm calling the 128 vs 256 memory race effectively a tie, at 4320 for Elephant vs 4316 for Goldfish. The ten machines in the race get thrown into the IglooDude pool, except for one. In the interests of remaining geeky I'm now taking two machines (one a veteran from the above race, one former IDer), a Celeron 500MHz 256MB RAM XP Pro box (to be called Goldfish) and a Pentium-III 256MB XP Pro box (to be called Elephant) and racing them. It isn't quite as fair a race as they have different chipsets and such, but what the heck.

Those threads get locked at my request, so they arn't cluttering up.

The reasoning is that once it reaches 10 pages or so, anyone new looking in just gets all confused. Starting a new thread sparks new interest aswell.

Yes, if you don't finish a WU, your name doesn't show up on the folding website's team member list.

I'm still not listed on post #2! I demand credit or I will stop curing diseases! You guys better hurry because apparently I'm only one WU away from curing alzheimers, and I would hate to have to quit folding when my computer is so close to a freaking breakthrough
