Hi Guys

I've folding for a week and have done two projects. Unfortunately, my first project was credited to "administrator" because I'm an idiot when it comes to configuring things. I got it right for the second project. How can I get the points combined?

same thing happened with me but its cool every little helps :)

What!! I can't combine them??

What a bummer!!

"warmonger" and "administrator" are in 95th and 96th spot respectively.

"We" together would be in the much more highly rated 85th spot. :mischief:

I'm not doing this to cure disease - that's my day job

I'm doing this to compete with others.

If you'd like I'll assign one of my machines to 'warmonger' until you get the proper pointage under that name. :)

Thank you IglooDude for your very kind offer but I will, respectfully, decline.

However I am considering dragging a few old 'puters out of the attic and firing them up full time on this.

I wish I wasn't so competitive. :crazyeye:

I hope its not to late to hop in

It's never to late to joing team #499!

I might be able to snag another computer to work for our team Sarurday, which always neat, especially when I my family starts laughing at my begging and pleeding. (It'll be the 6th computer that I've gotten folding@home working on in payment for tech support for the various people I know! )

Welcome warmonger and CivGeneral!

On another note, All of a sudden I can't load Civ3 Conquest anymore. I have no idea what happened, all I've done since yesterday was some monitor profiling, but I tried disabling that to no avail. The splash is loaded, then the monitor goes black and switches to the standard resolution, but nothing loads and I can't even exit..

I just hope I inputted the right number into the config.

I am having a bit of trouble here. It keeps telling me that it could not connect to the primary and secondary assignment server.

Do you have a firewall? You might need to tell the firewall to allow the program access to the net.

I do have McAfee Firewall and allowed it to gain access once McAfee prompted me that the program wishes to connect and allowed it full access.

Folding@Home uses several servers, and will cycle from one to the next if it fails to get access either because it is blocked by a firewall or because the service is down. This caused me problems at first as by the time I allowed access to one server it had moved on to the next or else had gone into wait mode before it tried another server. I eventually gave it access to all addresses and had to re-start folding at home to get it out of wait mode. It took me a few goes to get it connecting happily as there were also issues with the version of Norton I was running at the time.

I have allowed large WU recently and I am getting smaller scores per folding. Is there a reason why my folds per day average is nearing half what it was a month ago?
I did not use processing intensive programs for a long time.

Folding for two weeks now and up to number 80 in the team.

Next project will finish tonight and that should take me close to number 70.

All this folding sure does make my computer work hard.

Are you guys absolutely certain that running the CPU at 100% 24/7 is doing no harm to my boss's computer?

Any commercially-manufactured workstation shouldn't have any problem with cooling even running at max utilization 100% of the time.

Custom-built machines shouldn't either, but obviously it is more difficult to say as the builder may not have factored in enough cooling/airflow capacity.

How about laptops? Don't they struggle with heat dissapation?
