They god powers were balanced (or at least mostly one use, it's been a while so I don't remember).

I realised a couple of years ago that I just can't stand that kind of RTS, too much spam building, I don't like that. But I throughily enjoyed AoE II and AoM with the expansions. Spent hundreds of hours playing them as an older child until sometime in grade 10.

AoE2 :)
I played/finished AoM. It's fun, but AoE2 has that certain smthing that makes it much better.

I pissed so much of my life away playing AoE II

AoE 2. There is something about being able to fight off seven enemies at once, play one game for 21 hours, and always having the option of torpedoing enemies(or allies) that is just awesome.

AoE 3 is nice if you like sending little foot soldiers flying from cannons.

Why do you say that?

Because AOE II is a lot better of a game.

Trust me, you don't know how much fun AOM is until you see a giant three headed dog jumping out of hell, a ship getting ripped apart by a kraken, a huge bird coming out of heaven, a meteor raining down onto your enemy's town, a priest converting a baboon to fight for you, a crocodile throwing light beams at your enemy, or a giant statue of Poseidon coming alive and inevitably falling apart.

BEAT THAT!

Sounds dumb.

It actually is.

AoE 2 was great for its time. Age of Mythology.. well, if I wanted superweapons, I'd play C&C Generals...

IGN thinks Age of Empires II. Gamespot (and me) thinks Age of Mythology.

Because why should I take out one of the defining aspects of the game just because the AI can't use them? That's one of the major problems with Civ 4, everything the AI didn't know how to use in Civ 3 was either dumbed down for Civ 4 (artillery), or removed all together (army units).

Seriously, the game was called, uhm, Age of MYTHOLOGY. How could they feel like cheating? They're a game feature!

From your comment in the other thread you seem to rely on reviews way to much. Look at a game, play it if you can and make your own desicions, hearing somebody elses opinion is nice but thats ussually reserved for your friends, not somr random guy you dont even know making money to review games.

On topic: I never actually got around top playiung Aom although Ive always wanted to, and every time I see it in the shop for ten bucks I almost always get it but never quite have. I think the second one was the best and the first one was really fun to, but the second one wins(perhaps only until I play AoM). No Im not going to bash the third one, but the third one just felt like the second one to much, just different skins and fewer melee only units. It also seemed to lackt he depth of the first and second one, and the features that were supposed to be revolutionary werent at all. The home city thing was nice, but the trade routes(which they clamied we would be fighting over) didnt warrant enough of an advantage to really be something to fight over. But I still like the game, and I waste a few hours on it every now and then but it still lacks that critical punch of the first two.
