This thread is a celebration of the best feature of DVDs, the audio or director's commentary. So, which DVD has the best one? It doesn't matter if the film they are commented is terrible all that matters is the commentary. Which DVD has the best audio commentary? What do you think?

I really can't understand that people are gonna watch a whole movie with some director talking through it.

You either watch a movie or your gonna listen to a director not both at the same time IMO

Serioussly what's the use?

I kinda like the Xmen and X2 commentaries

Commentary can give a new dimention to a movie.

Those I remeber from the top of my head is;
The Thing: Fun cuz it's Kurt russel and the director, they have obviouse not watch the movie for a long time and talk around it and the actors and what happend.

Sum of all Fears, the director and th author of the book, fun cuz the author talks about things that are wrong :)

I have never actually listened to the comentary. I'll have to do that some time. I wonder if The Matrix movies have it, that would explain a lot.

For me the Mallrats commentary is great because it's got Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes, Jason Lee, and Ben Affleck talking like they've just stuck the movie on at 3 in the morning and everyone is either stoned or drunk.

The Spaced (British TV show) DVD, both series, also has a decent commentary. The same for Black Books, first series, where the actors are exactly like their characters in the show.

I really liked the Ebert commentary on "Citizen Kane." Gave me more exposure to how innovative Citizen Kane was with all the camera tricks and perceptions.
