Best Beer?

Carlsberg, Stella Artois. I had the occasion to taste Pilsner Urquell once, and I loved it. :)

The best Romanian beer is Ursus, IMO there is no question...

Carlsberg!?!!???

They sponsor the dark side... Chang Beer FTW!

Leffe Blond, La Chouffe, Chimay, Delerium Tremens, Westvletern, ...

To name a few. :)

Goose Island Bourbon County Stout
Weyerbacher Double Simcoe IPA
St. Bernardus Abbot 12
Thomas Hooker Imperial Porter

Inspired by the Worst Beer thread. what are some of the best beers that you know? I need to know so that I can get my money's worth when I become legal in 4+ years.

You are living near two of the most awesome breweries in the country: Stone and Alesmith. Check them out when your legal, or now.

Red Stripe! Support them if only to get more commercials!

Winner, you are in Europe and that's your choice?

For those who like Chimay, try a Corsendonk or a Triple Karmeliet instead. Same style beer, just much better than what I consider a flat tasting Chimay.

Pilsner and Stella may be good, crisp, sweet, full flavored beers, but they are nowhere near a "best" beer. There are dozens of beers better than these. They're good commercial beers.

Best beer? Mackeson Triple Stout.

A Belgian witbier Hoegaarden (Hoe) is very good for imported. For NA, anything Canadian. American beer tastes like someone's dog urinated in a bottle, and sold for large amounts of money.

How does everyone seem to know what dog urine tastes like so they could compare? ;)

:joke:

Hoegaarden is good. It's probably the best commercial white, way better than Blue Moon. But there are much much better Belgian white beers. Unfortunately they are very expensive. Any good beer store would have some, they are much more white than even Hoegaarden. But you'll pay for it, perhaps $20 a bottle.

Canadian's know their beer! Higher alcohol content and better flavour. Although I don't actually like any beer.

I heard some Canadians saw a sign that said "Drink Canada Dry", so they started work on implementing that plan.

It's simply imbossible to choose best one, so i'll name few of my favorites -- Fullers ESB, Schneider-weisse Aventinus, Koff Porter, Sierra Nevada Bigfoot, Guinness, Schlenkerla Rauchbier, Belhaven Twisted Thistle IPA.

Loads of local Belgian beers.
If you want something more popular / easier to find: Tripel Karmeliet, Westvleteren, Barbar, Kwak.
Even more accessible and still outclassing the regular beers: Duvel, Leffe Radieuze, Leffe 9°
Good for thirsty weather: Pilsner Urquell, Guinness (both export and local)

I can understand Europeans not understanding the awesomeness of some of the 1000+ American craft/micro breweries, but what's your excuse? Laziness?

Jeez, where do you live that Westvleteren is easy to find? Can't you only get it by driving to the St. Sixtus monastary?

Do you think that the Beer Store or LCBO sells 1000's of American microbreweries? They now have Canadian Microbreweries, and are putting a lot of effort into advertsing them. However, a few small american beers make it in, which are all a lot better than budweiser.

Nice beer if you can get it:
