I'm surprised Herman Cain hasn't received more votes. He has been on the news quite frequently and he's also black.

Why would being black necessarily gain him more votes?

Because the only reason Obama won a majority of the independent vote in 2008 was because of his race.

Wow.

Or it could be the fact that he wasn't a clone of George Bush.

I looked through all the Republican candidate positions on political issues and I hope that none of them ever become President.

However, if Obama is unseated by a GOP candidate. Please let it be either Hermann Cain or Tom Pawlenty. They seem the most competent in terms of skill and ability.

That doesn't even begin to resemble reality. The blacks would have voted Democratic anyways. They always do. The number of blacks that don't usually vote who came out and voted for him were too small an increase in voters to matter. The reason Obama won is that Bush and McCain alienated the middle.

But he's republican. There's not many blacks that vote republican, so it's just a rule of thumb that you'd only expect black democrats to do well.

I don't see any problems with such an activity.

It's antisocial, certainly, but it can be very hard to have sympathy for certain figures to support extreme religious viewpoints.

"The threshold question: It's not usually asked, but it's in everyone's mind in a presidential election. 'Should we give this person nuclear weapons?' ...Answers itself."

It seems that it isn't safe for any Republicans in any type of book signing or public appearances.

What would be the opposite of dumping glitter on top of a democratic candidate? Mini Bibles? I am at wit's end here.

But if the tables were turned, you'd be up at arms, I am certain... Say, a gay politician was having a book signing in (whatever city you prefer), and some militant hetero decided to pour little vagina stickers all over him and his stuff...
That seems quite hypocritical to me.

You should respect people, and not assault/batter them, however innocent it may seem, whether you approve of their opinions or not.

That is a violation of his space... your rights end where my nose begins.

I'm sure you'll find occassions of gay politicians or gay people in general being harrassed, if not more so than anti-gay individuals.
