Best One-Hit Wonders

Nice list <IglooDude>,but I have to disagree on
Eddy Grant and T'Pau.
Both had a major number one hit in the Netherlands.
"Gimme hope Jo'anna" - Eddy Grant (1988,6 weeks no.1)
"China in your hand" - T'Pau (1987,5 weeks no.1)

What about the negative hit wonders:

What about the Crazy Frog?
We're surprisingly resistent against that stuff here by now;

Hey Doc,what's that I'm seeing on the number 7 spot.

How could I forgot Princess Stephanie - "Irresistible" :mischief:

This Crazy Frog ... this isn't the mobile phone ring tone what is advertised as a naked frog with helmet making brrrrmmm brrrooooommmm noises? ????

Frank Farian, was he a good songwriter or simply good
business man?I know he bought/used songs, like "Brown girl in the ring",
and gave those songs his own sound.

He's a solid musician and producer. Dead ugly, without the slightest charisma; but pretty clever. And at least for Boney M he did write some acceptable songs.

The Frog...I never said you won't find it in the German charts :(. However, the German charts are pure sales charts, and because of the ridiculous low single sales of today almost pointless - that kind of songs luckily isn't aired on any radio station I get.

there's also "What's going on" by 4 Non Blondes have never heard anything by them again....

Oh I just know that she (the 4 non blonde-woman) helped producing Pinks newest album..., and that was a hit, but of course, she didn't sing on that one... :D

The charts/hitparades are a big farce.
It seems besides the sales, they also count mp3 download times and
maybe also video/airplay times.

An extreme example from years ago (1983) in the Dutch charts.
"Blue monday"/"The beach" by New Order, the 12 inch record.
It reached no.3 in the Dutch top 40 (founded in 1965),
but never made it to the Nationale hitparade,a top 50 (founded in 1969).

I hope I'm not showing my age too much here, but I can't believe that no one has mentioned what is probably the most famous OHW of them all, at least in the states:

Rock And Roll Hoochie Koo by Rick Derringer

"Word up" two versions, original by Cameo and covered by Gun. Both one-off hits.

I believe "All Along the Watchtower" was his only hit.

But hes not really a one-hit wonder.
