Best Unique Unit?

Well, at first, I underestimated Jaguars. They are quite useful and easy to sacriface and defeat a civ or two. Of course Cossacks are great and so are the conquistadors when playing world map 1000AD, killing Aztecs and Inca and getting the coast of North Africa and finally leading to the destruction of the Arabian empire.

I've found no use for Navy Seals since I don't play America. I've found no use for Keshiks, Skirmishers, Quechua, War chariots and I never play Germany either, and I hope I never have to find out the strenght of Panzers in war. Freddy or Otto are dead before they get Panzers

Redcoat is really good, for sealing your cities but I hate it when I can't attack with musketeers and redcoats! They only get the city garrison upgrade and are an easy prey for a defender that isn't stronger than a knight for musketeers. When I try to have use for musketeers in battles and hurry them up, they're bund to be stacked with catapults to weaken the city.

Cossacks and conquists are a diffrent thing. They don't get the city raider upgraide but they're just so strong. I mean, Monty and Huyana have got nothing but melee units and conquists slaughter them easily and cossacks are just so great and strong and powerful and Cathy is so great also

Praetorians ... I never play Romans. Gaius has bad traits. That's all

the praetorians are pretty good though IMO.

although I don't really have a fave unique unit.

I'm voting Redcoats. By then both you and the AI's cities have a good population. It seems to feel good to keep a conquered city even if it is not in the best place.

Love the Seal, one of the few UU that doesn't penalize you for fast teching.
