Yep pretty OP!Even without the Redcoat, Churchill's traits make it so an English unit can get Drill 4 with just 8 experience.

I ment OP (or just powerful) with drill IV.Redcoats are not overpowered. You have to wait till the end part of the game before you can even use Redcoats. A unit like Praets you can use very early on. If anyone does a cuirs or cavalry rush they may not even use Redcoats. 2mp vs a 1mp unit. You would then need cannons too pending on the AI defences. On plus side you can draft redcoats. You could also use galleons effectively to speed up any Redcoat war. You still need to capitulate all your neighbours. If it was a pangea map I would choose cuirs most of the time.
Of course sometimes it is nice to play a nation to use it's UU. Other times you play the map. Who builds keshik units when you know you are isolated?
The Vikings. Faster ships and AGG + GG leads faster to combat VI. (+25% combat strength)
Are you sure?Celtic UU is pretty sweet
With unlocked leader-civ combos, Boudica of, let's say Rome, is badass. Or else Boudica's civilization is not too great at all.True. But the Celtic UU + UB aren't that useful.
Ragnar and Shaka have an economic component too besides other good abilities.
Are you sure?

Definitely underrated, but good? I guess so. It's not the best but it holds its own. It also depends on the map. Thanks for the enlightenment.Yes...most definitely sure..and it is not about hill defense as Quothe quoted (although that helps), but rather Guerrilla III and hill movement from GII. If you learn to play with them, and why they are so good, you will see. I chalk them up as the most underrated UU by far simply as most folks just write them off, not understanding how powerful GIII is. And yes, the Dun generally sucks as it is a Wall, but still can be powerful throwing the cheap building in a few unit producing cities at some point, then spamming or drafting Muskets before Rifling, which enables those units to go down the Guerrilla line. Not to mention the likely rocking GWs that can be upgraded later to Rifles. GWs are powerful enough to make gains early and then later get some very powerful units, especially with Boudi, but both Celt leaders do well at this. (I prefer Brennus myself) The hill movement allows for tactics which most melee units lack, which is also very very nice...GWs move faster and can...in certain cases...attack from distances. But to be clear, it is the 50% withdrawal chance on a melee unit (and gunpowder) that takes the cake.
Anyway, try them out. Probably one of the most fun units if done right.
With that said the Celts can be kinda tough to play if inexperienced, but Brennus is actually an above par leader with very very good traits.
