I know many of you don't like the two party system and how only really 2 candidates have a chance at winning so what would be an ideal way. Each Party/Group(maybe that has at least 1 million supporters) could nominate and candidate and compete in this poll's ways. Which way do you think would be the best?

Popular vote would be fine but we need free and fair elections. None of this crap we've seen lately.

Never will happen with just a system where only 2 candidates will have a real shot. Need some sort of knock-out tournament to ensure all parties get a shot.

I kind of like the old venetian system, actually.

But... can you find a hat large enough?

Well, I did say you have to find at least 1 million supporters to get your name in, so a max of like 350 for the US I think.

I personally think the fate of the realm should be determined like it always was meant to be -- in Mortal Kombat(and no, I don't mean the video game). It'd make for a great TV show/PPV too.

I came into this thread EXPECTING a battleaxe/prehistoric animal option, and I leave DISAPPOINTED, sir

By far the best way would be me single handedly selecting the president but there might be some issues with the implementation of such system so popular vote would be the next best thing.
Winner takes all based options tend to create bi-polar environment for which I favour the systems generally used in the western countries apart from US & UK.

I think that a death match where a candidate can only win by murdering the other in unarmed combat would be the best way to select from the candidates.

Not that it would increase the quality of the potential presidents, because it would keep that at much the same level as it is now, but it would at least leave voters with a clear success at the end of each election: one of the candidates will be killed.

Wouldn't that just be Mortal Kombat?

Of course not. Release the iguanadon.

I would have them all take turns fighting a Utah Raptor, winner take all. But like if they all die, we wouldn't be leaderless.

Slapsies is a fine game suitable for determining the president.

President of what, btw?
