Beta test: I'm IN!!!!

Oh bah, I'm perfectly fine. :D I don't mind that I wasn't picked.

civrules on the other hand...let's just say he's getting he's getting his medication daily now. ;) :crazyeye: :D

Nah, I am fine. I am actually happy because I will be getting PTW soon. So I am fine.
:D And that will keep me busy until Conquests gets out. Oh, and I am very happy that I DID NOT get PTW earlier because by this time I would be very bored with it and I would surely be getting medication every day.

BTW, Beta testers, Make this the best game ever! Catch every bug, report it, and have fun!

so were the only 2 options for the NDA faxing or scanning? well, even if i did get in then i wouldn't have been able to do it...although i live 5 miles south of firaxis HQ so i probably could've hand-delivered it had i been accepted

You could snail-mail it also. It was going to Breakaway, not Firaxis, so it'd only be about 4 miles :)

Nope. They don't mind us saying that we are testers, but any details of the game, including screenshots, are prohibited. That sort of thing is only for Atari/Firaxis/Breakaway to release.

Just noticed you also use BCPL Internet. :) (me too). You could mail it to them, but being so close, you could pratically drive there. There's already a couple of us locals beta testing, so come on over! :D

Well the testers were pretty much told that they won't be a tester for long if they do this.

Rules schmules.. post em up.

I'm personally offended you think any of us would do that. Besides, the more beta-testers we have, the better we can make the XP. Patience in this case will pay off.

It is clearly obvious that the developers are extremely strict about leaks of information on Conquests. Just look at how many people from FIRAXIS and ATARI are here. We have Tavis, Jeff_ATARI, and Mike B. FIRAXIS. We might have some more but I don’t know.

Yeah and I sure hope that that policy will make them receptive to some of the propositions on these forums.

Now I would love to know if there are any French beta-testers.

Who knows how many other developers are reading this forum. Even if there were not many registered people from FIRAXIS or ATARI they are sure reading our ideas.

BTW, when there are 8,000 applications they are going to chose people that they know are good moders and also people with recommendations. I did not get chosen for one of those reasons and it is just about time for us to stop wondering “why was it not me?"

I *know* that there are plenty of "Civ3" people reading this forum, and not just to catch leaks. ;)

As far as the choosing process, went, I would not be considered a "modder" by any stretch of the imagination.

And as for a recommendation, I had none.

But there are many testers I am aware of who are not modders, who are not *strong* Civ players, or who don't have any other obvious "redeeming" features. The test group includes people who are (almost) clueless newbies to "Deity Masters", from "super-modders" to "what's an editor?". They want to test the game through the full spectrum of user types, to better understand the problems.

As for the "Why not me?" question, consider it a variation of the "Speaman vs Tank" scenario: usually he loses, but every once in a while ... ;)

Darn it! I always get it wrong! First, I thought you were a pilot and a few hours ago I was thinking that you were a modder.:crazyeye:
