Beta Test Openings for Civ3 Conquests

Well, it did say at the end of beta signup that the chosen hard-working individuals will be notified by June 2nd... That constitues as a promise imho...
Well, not really, but I'd like to know wether I got chosen or not... It's driving me nuts.

Hey, they still have time to notify people. It is a US company and most US software companies seem to run on Pacific time so if you're a European, I wouldn't wait up for the "you've got mail" voice
Just relax, get some sleep, and check it in the morning...

Breakaway would be operating on Eastern Daylight Time as they are in Maryland. I'm guessing it ain't happening today.

As I said earlier, if the Civ 3 website is not updated by tomorrow, we all may still have a chance.

Gotcha beat. 500 mhz celeron on a 28.8 with only 64mb of ram...but that's FAST compared to the other computer i got civ to run on: pI 166mhz, 32mb of ram, didn't have an internet connection...it crashed on anything bigger than 'small' maps or 5 civs(including myself) or when something like 110 cities total was built...but it helped me crush my cravings during the week


yep, im surprised that there wasn't a news item on the results supposed to be delivered today...it's 8:35 right now so they're probably closed for the day...if i'm not busy tomorrow, and still dont have an email reply, i might just drive up there & figure out what's going on(i live about 4 1/2 miles south)

I don't see a promise being made. I do see a statement about June 2nd, but that isn't a promise even if people believe it to be so. I didn't see "Breakaway Games promises that all will be notified by June 2nd." I am sure that they will do everything they can to meet the June 2nd date, but like I said several times before, 8,000+ applications is a lot of applications. They could still meet the deadline by getting all emails out before midnight of June 2nd in the latest time zone on the planet.

I expect people to start getting them soon.

Yes but the problem is that they updated their web on May, 28th.
Saying this:

All applicants will be notified shortly if they have been accepted.

We may have been simply unlucky but I doubt it. You could still be right.

I got accepted too! Hurrah! Very pleased but a bit nervous too as I've never done this kind of thing before. Congratulations to all others selected and commiserations to any who are not. The email was sent to me at 1.03 am this morning. Perhaps they waited till we were all asleep in case we got a bit upset if we didn't get in and started ringing them!
