Beta Testers Needed!

City radius issue is still present mate. When installing I did not choose/ install Larger Cities component.

However you know how a city radius is highlighted when you have settler selected to help you find out where the zones of control are. well with your pack installed it shows as extended as in only 1 til short of cultural borders.

I can't figure out where the code is for that or I would try to provide a solution.

* Ai doesn't know to get Mountaineering, and may avoid it for some time. I am also actively working on this."

I'm just now d/ling-installing 2.8 and your 1.4beta, but I did some testing of 2.8beta with your 1.351, and I did not experience this problem. I had in one game AI units walking over some peak, and in another an AI traded the tech with me (it had gotten it before me).
I'll keep my eyes open on this in my next games.

Afforess likes to contradict himself as if you look at the list above known bugs, you will see on the mountaineering line that the AI are actually fixed.:p

You're talking about the blue highlighted area with settlers? Dancing Hoskuld complained about that too, but it isn't my fault. Try RoM without my modmod's. It's their too.

The AI avoid Mountaineering for a long time. They don't actually know that it unlocks Mountain Travel. Same with the promotion.

Or, I could be slow to updating the OP. ;)

I have no idea what you are talking about:shifty: and it should be there not their :)

I think I am going to need some help with the "Shinto and Shaman" mod. I can't get the civics bit to work and I have lost the buildings in the pedia. Tomorrow (oops that's today) I will try something different and if that doesn't work ask for help.

I found something strange:

My city is "developing", but I have partly 3-tile-city already: Horse and Salt on the (right) are workable, Swine to (north and south) isn't. If I click on either Horse or Salt it isn't pickable to make it not worked anymore - but if I click a few times on + normal citizen/specialist, it's taken away and a normal click on it makes it worked again...

Secound thing I found was that trades with the computer often don't have a 10 turn minimal time, they even got cancelled after 1 turn (first I thought it was because they got pillaged but when India cancelled a deal and I was able to do the same deal the next turn again).

I think its because they realize trading ivory to me makes me building bazaars asp^^

1.) I bet I can track that down. I think larger cities radius has a lot of bugs that are only becoming apparent as I made the modmod more mainstream.

2.) That's not good. I'll look into that, right away.

Along the same lines with the larger cities, when the cultural border is large enough, on the right side in the city radius, the 3 most tiles always have a hut/boat on them, as if they were being worked, even if you can't/not working on them. You can also see from the city on the bottom left, how the tile below the mountain has a hut on it, even thou it is not actually being worked on by that city.

I also had an issue like his above, but my city had a desert tile outside the basic city radius it wanted to work, that I had to convert all to citizens to unwork it, since clicking on the tile did nothing. Actually didn't know how to fix it until I read DRJ's post :D

Thanks for the input. I'm going to see if I can recreate DRJ's situation with my new changes. I think I found the error...

I found a repetitional CTD, a save is attached (I reinstalled BtS and RoM so I think this time you can open it...).

I had several CTDs before but I always was able to play on after reload. Not this time.

2.8 beta seemed a lot more stable to me, never had a CTD there I couldn't avoid by reloading...

An update:

For the city governor placing workers on the third radius, when it wasn't unlocked:

I know exactly where the error is, but I am unsure how to fix it. I looked at FFH2's implementation, and saw their change, but am unsure if that won't have the unintended consequence of forcing the city governor to never place workers on the third level. I contacted Kael, and hope to have an answer soon.

For the CTD's
:

One major CTD was caused by some bad logic in tech decision making, my fault. I fixed that. However, there appears to be one other CTD's with a unit that should never earn XP (missionaries, execs...), getting an XP bonus. I am tracking it down...

After that, I will check for more illusive bugs. If that's it. I will release one last beta, and if that goes smoothly, 1.4.

Were you able to load my save and was it the xp-earning bug or is it something I can edit out perhaps, so I could continue game?

Afforess,
Great work.
I have found a bug that I'm not sure is in your modmod or on my end, but when I get to the time frame around researching Mountaineering, Civ4 quits responding. It first did it when I tried to research Mountaineering, then after a auto save reload, anything I researched caused the same problem.

I have included the save which is 2 rounds before the problem and the logs. I hope this is what you need to find the bugs, if not let me know how I can help.

Nope, I already found that bug, and got it. I believe you might be able to get around it by gifting Mountaineering to all the AI's.

I have had the same problem with Invention but assumed it was something I had done. Three games so far have stopped responding, even the graphics freeze. Always with Invention for me. I even left the game for four hours to see if it was just taking a long time :)

Strange.

The good news is that I caught another CTD bug (Divide by 0... Go figure.)

I think there are no bugs left, but I want to run some more tests...

Is there a way to gift it without having researched it myself? As I'm sure you can guess, I am a complete noob when it comes to mods.

Pay no mind to the previous statement. I "cheated" a way around it. I went into the WB and gifted myself Mountaineering and it went right on playing.

Thanks for the looking at my problem and thanks for making the mod to the mod.

In the world builder, go through each player, find the Moutanineering Tech icon, and select it. You only need to give it to the AI's. The bug is in the AI logic for deciding when to research that tech, nothing else.

Excuse me for asking again but i really wanted to continue the game if possible and I think you overread the post as you didn't answer it (or do you hate me for bothering you with such questions?^^)

Have a nice new daywn!

Try using this CvGameCoreDLL, and putting it in the Rise of Mankind/Assets folder, over the old one. It should be save game compatible.
