Just had my first CTD with the newest version.

NameError: global name 'PyPopup' is not defined

One unexpected effect of the don't show units/buildings that you can't build here is that it breaks the Prophet action buttons, more than RoM does:). The buttons are supposed to tell you which Holy Shrines have not been built as well as if you can build them in this city. I.E. My mod to make them work after RoM made them not work can't work anymore. :(

Is the final release of New Dawn a matter of days, or weeks? No hurry though, just want to know if I should start another game, or better wait?

What do you mean by break? Wouldn't the button still show up if the prophet was over top of the holy city?

Also, it's just a player option, albeit, a very simple one from coding perspective. It's fairly easy to toggle on/off...

I have only this beta modmod installed. I deleted the old rise of mankind folder, then installed 2.80, then rom2.80hotfix3 and then this beta modmod, nothing else. So there is nothing that explains this crash?
I'm reluctant to trying another round, because a CTD you cannot get past is no fun. :cry:

No... You didn't understand me. When you installed A New Dawn, what components did you select when you ran the installer?
 
I like to play with Revolutions on, but in the last game it went out of hand. I use Aforess latest beta (1.50b4) - but only parts of it. Here is the list:

I noticed with this setup that there was quite a lot of revolutions in the AI civs in this game and the previous attempt (same setup). In the latest my cities started revolting, even though they were reasonably close and linked with paths as well as culturally. Three of the four even had the state religion, yet two of them wanted to revolt.

This was not the case with beta2 and earlier installs. Something made the cities more belligerent. I do not play with Barbarian Civs, nor with barb cities at start. The latest was on Prince, the one before that on Monarch.

On top of this, in my latest game, a bunch of American units appeared out of nowhere as a response to the revolting ( :p ) sentiment in my cities. There were at least two stacks, including a settler in one. It didn't feel right - there were more units than I could build in a fair amount of time, and they appeared out of nowhere.

I suspect it has to do with the modmod. But I'd also like to know what the simplest way to turn down revolution is. There is a Revolutions.ini in C:\Spil\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Complete\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Rise of Mankind - I guess that's the place to go. It has a number of parameters, and these look like they woudl do the trick:

That is reducing the two IndexModifier values. If so, how much effect will a reduction have? Or do I need to change another parameter?

Btw: I did a few xml tweaks myself, but nothing that should affect this: More wonders in cities, larger min distance btw civs and a small change on the Slavery civic.
 
What do you mean by break? Wouldn't the button still show up if the prophet was over top of the holy city?
Yes, but that is not the point. In standard Civ and BtS when a prophet is active they have action buttons showing all the unbuilt holy shrines. This acts as a reminder to the player for ant holy shrines s/he may be able to build. In RoM holy shrines stopped being great wonders so this functionallity was lost since the logic behind the showing of the action buttons now showed all holy shrines built of not built except those built in the city the prophet was in. My mod put the holy shrines back to being great wonders so that the prophet action buttons worked again. Your mod turns it off again :( I think the problem is that the buttons are both "build" and "action" buttons. If they were just the latter I expect that your mod would not affect them. It is just a pain for those of us who like to get all the religions, even when playing with revolutions.
 
I have something really strange, last few days with 1.51beta2, Rom would start up fine. Now I am getting a bunch of XML errors like these, even though I did not change anything.:confused:

This was not the case with beta2 and earlier installs. Something made the cities more belligerent. I do not play with Barbarian Civs, nor with barb cities at start. The latest was on Prince, the one before that on Monarch.

On top of this, in my latest game, a bunch of American units appeared out of nowhere as a response to the revolting ( :p ) sentiment in my cities. There were at least two stacks, including a settler in one. It didn't feel right - there were more units than I could build in a fair amount of time, and they appeared out of nowhere.

I suspect it has to do with the modmod. But I'd also like to know what the simplest way to turn down revolution is. There is a Revolutions.ini in C:\Spil\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 Complete\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Rise of Mankind - I guess that's the place to go. It has a number of parameters, and these look like they woudl do the trick:

That is reducing the two IndexModifier values. If so, how much effect will a reduction have? Or do I need to change another parameter?

Btw: I did a few xml tweaks myself, but nothing that should affect this: More wonders in cities, larger min distance btw civs and a small change on the Slavery civic.

No... You did read the OP, right? Revolutions scales with difficulty now. Noble difficulty is standard revolutions, easier than that is less revolutions, harder than noble is harder. You can find the changes in Afforess/Required/CIV4HandicapInfo

It's supposed to make the game easier for newbies and harder for us veterans. I am coping fine though on Monarch difficulty ATM, but I was forced to use the pacifism civic (:crazyeye:) to keep my cities in line.

Yes, but that is not the point. In standard Civ and BtS when a prophet is active they have action buttons showing all the unbuilt holy shrines. This acts as a reminder to the player for ant holy shrines s/he may be able to build. In RoM holy shrines stopped being great wonders so this functionallity was lost since the logic behind the showing of the action buttons now showed all holy shrines built of not built except those built in the city the prophet was in. My mod put the holy shrines back to being great wonders so that the prophet action buttons worked again. Your mod turns it off again :( I think the problem is that the buttons are both "build" and "action" buttons. If they were just the latter I expect that your mod would not affect them. It is just a pain for those of us who like to get all the religions, even when playing with revolutions.

Okay, sure. Just untoggle the option then. No one says you have to use it. ;)

I have something really strange, last few days with 1.51beta2, Rom would start up fine. Now I am getting a bunch of XML errors like these, even though I did not change anything.:confused:

Did you edit the files for RoM?

Oh, is there anyway to check this now? I don't really remember it, but I think I left it mostly on the default setting. May have turned off one or maybe two.

Okay. I will have it install a component log to make this easier in the future.

Hmm... Reinstalling Rom seems to have fixed my problem.:crazyeye:

Not completely, but Beta4 does.
 
No, its too useful. What I am is write a proper mod for prophet action buttons which works for RoM only. Now where did I put that action button tutorial :)
 
could you make a feature that unlimits Wonders? would make bug reporting easier
