As others have mentioned, this is likely the fault of your PC. I can load games fine here.

The audio is borked ever since I started including new audio in my modmods. I need to look at that.

I'm sorry about all the false starts and failed-beta's. It's my fault. I've got a new beta, on which works on the OP. I just gave up and decided to rename it beta4, and beta3 will just go down as the beta that failed miserably. I suppose this is the whole point of the thread, to point of bugs in my builds, but I should have done more testing...

So how would I go about fixing the audio? What files of yours would I need to change to get them to read the audio in the leaderhead packs? I now have a decent understanding of how the xml works, I just need to know what specifically to alter.

I don't 'put up' with you Afforress, I loath the fact you are a better modder than myself (kidding, you're awesome). Sometimes you have to put up with failure to get to success. Its like Mickey Rooney once said: "You always pass failure on the way to success" :goodjob:
 
Still on Beta2, but question is probably more general.

I created custom game in modern era, giant map ( planet_gen_068) , and did not moves myself just let the Autoplay go for 100 turns.

It was quicker than RoM 2.8 full ( without the new dawn). BUT i still got python exeptions. mostly gibberish for me, but some were still kind of hinting that i have non-english characters problem.

And that prompted me to question - some civs have city names in their local chars - could those pose a problem for RevDCM ? So not only players username/path or possibly city names, but also AI's names ?

I have frequent ctds like these, too. I think it's something with revdmc, barbciv, leaderchats and/or fixed borders.
 
Afforess, it seems like there are so many people that ask how to
delete the wonder limitation/city.
So, to prevent more unnecessary reposted question, can you make this an option in your next beta installer?:)

NB:Afforess's 1.4 modmod is included in this beta isn't it?

If you look in the list of RoM Modmods there is a mod for doing this in post #4. Personally I have come to like the limits just not the RoM default limits.
 
I understand that there is already a modmod for no wonder limits but wasn't A.N.D. supposed to merge all existing stuff? I certainly would like to see it included.

If you want the unlimited wonder limits just go into your GlobalDefines.xml file and search for MAX_WORLD_WONDERS and change the limit to "-1" for unlimited or any other high number to suit your tastes. If you do this however, make sure you tell Afforress or whomever you report errors to when uploading saves so they can accommodate that save when troubleshooting.
 
Thx, I know you can do it that way. I would just like to have a checkbox option before beginning of the game, like BarbCiv, Rising Seas etc. On small maps I would check that option, not so on huge ones. Always editing it in and out is just too much for a lazy hedonist like me... ;-)

I took out all those listed above in python (but i still have all the XML listed) and it STILL has alot of crashes in the beginning of a game, but once its over 200 turns i dont get much.:crazyeye:

Also if i just want to use Afforess' dll do i HAVE to use ALL of your extra modcomps or which ones do i have to have in there?

EDIT: The MAF stuff listed in earlier posts are more than likely due to something with the text being messed-up someplace or art files that the author made incorrectly.

It also has crashes when a unit trying to kill other units that are IN a city also.

All autosaves should work ok when trying to reload a game.
 
This has to be a local issue. I just loaded an autosave, while already having a game running on my computer, and it worked perfectly.

It's not a mod breaker. But if it occurs again I'll be sure to let you know.

I thought you were going home today for Thanksgiving?

Hmm. This sounds like a memory leak. I need to do some tests, perhaps I accidentally caused one.

The reason I haven't even bothered is because it about 100+ files worth of work. At least a good hour of work. However, if I can figure the problem in the SDK, I can avoid doing all the grunt work.

Most of the python errors, except the one in the OP I listed, are fixed.

As for non-ASCII in python, AFAIK, it should work. The problems other users have is from reading files from directories, not just displaying Unicode characters.

I personally suspect a negative feedback from Fixed Borders and Revolutions, but I haven't confirmed it. I'm running my own tests though.

However, I am playing my own game, really playing, not autoplay, and I haven't gotten a CTD in the first 300 turns so far.

Sure, it's a simple enough alteration. I'll include it in the next version.

Not all existing stuff. Only quality and completed modmods.

I'm not sure what your asking. If you want to use my dll, you should only need the Lead From Behind folder, Required Folders, Mountains, Advanced Diplomacy, and Fixed Borders folders. You just need any folder that corresponds to a game option and the required folder. Everything else is optional.

However, a bunch of python changes where made to add "A New Dawn Concepts" You would need to make sure to include those...
 
Just can't stop modding or talking about it heh! LoL

It was that way for me with MoOIII and modding it. ;)

Of course that was simple Excel spreadsheets and this IS way over my old head. So I'll leave it up to you young whipper snappers. :D

Hmm. I'm not sure. I made changes to sections in the civilopedia python.

I'd run it and see if the civilopedia works okay. If it does, then just ignore it. But if it doesn't, we'll have to come up with a solution.
