Beta Testers Needed!

Oh good to know about the lead from behind bug. I can take that out and start a new game.

I tried to narrow down the city screen hesitation, removing new modules in Beta7 that weren't in the previous beta build, but no luck. It's not a game breaker for me, just a minor annoyance.

I added another modcomp that might be causing it to take longer to load the city screen than it should. I'll look into speed optimizations.

I added a modcomp called "Technology affected building" that allows techs to change how much food, commerce, espionage, etc... buildings give with techs. It seems that the way it was coded was making do the computer do 10 different loops, when there only needed to be 2. So basically, it was forcing the computer to do 5x extra work for no reason at all. I shortened them up, and the civiliopedia and city screen seem a bit snappier. Not tons faster, but not as slow as before.

Tried the sea monsters...yay!! :D It was amusing to see a fleet of galleys go up against a giant turtle! :D
 
I found something, on the screenie, a window is too small because selassie has no bigger resolution pic I guess; Yet don't know if its from the beta I use...

Delete the military training folder, in your Afforess's modmod's. It has bugs.

In other news, I just found a (another) rare divide by zero bug, I'm trying to find out the cause.
 
I don't know what's with that screen DRJ. I never messed with that one.

Yeah. I tried to warn people earlier not use that modmod...:( I even pulled beta7's download because it was so buggy.

Like it matters, just get 2.8full now, and I'll release the next beta shortly.
 
Beta8, for RoM 2.8 full is out. I won't be back until sunday evening, so I'll handle bug reports then.

Update for A.N.D,

A.N.D will be released sometime after 1.4 is released, which will be sometime next week if no game-crushing bugs are found.

Thanks! even better that I can start a new game with your modmods. I'll see how much testing/playing the gf lets me do this weekend.

Awesome and thanks for tracking down the city screen wait bug!
 
Now here's something interesting: When i try to install the beta i choose my RoM folder, i press next and...i get two things show up (in the place where should pick features). Caption Goes Here and lower, Message goes here. There is only one button, which stands for Cancel. WTH is wrong?

Remember - the new beta will only install over RoM 2.8 not RoM 2.8beta according to the first post. If you are trying to load it over 2.8 then you will have to wait until Monday (or Tuesday if your are on this side of the world) for Afforess to get back and solve the issue.
 
Running Win 7, 64-b, 4GB RAM, quad-core
Playing ROM 2.8 with Afforess 1.4beta 8.
Loaded modules: static leaderheads and custom civilization

CTD earlish in the game (researching Feudalism I believe). CTD has happened several times I've loaded from save. Due to custom civ/config I don't know if you can load a save game?

I think the errror is this regarding this error in xml.log
"info type NONE not found, Current XML file is:"

This appears for a LOT of the game files (Cross-posted with 2.8 bugs since I'm not sure if it's a 2.8 bug or mod-mod bug.
