Beyond Earth Factions

Western media is inconsistent with presenting the names of people whose culture normally puts family name before given name. It depends whether someone decides to culturally 'translate' it at any stage.

There's still a problem, however. The CivBE leader is a woman, yet all instances of Daoming I've been able to find are men. A number of "baby name" sites claim it's a female name, but I couldn't find any corroboration for that.

Gender change found its way into the gaming world? ;)

NGOs - Stations
Hispanic America - Brazilia technically applies for this area

Stations come from your Colony After a faction on Earth sponsored you.
Stations are not from Earth.
I'm talking about NGOs as one of the factions on Earth that launch ships.

I gather an NGO simply doesn't have the productive/financial cloud to construct/buy a starship.

Which could be the ingame reason there are 'only' eight expeditions mounted to what is obviously a habitable world: the enormous costs and technical prowess required to mount such an expedition.

This would be for expansions.

2. Non-territorial ngos (many of these)

Will humans remain the same or will they somehow evolve? Why not have humans that rely on machines more and upgrade. .. While you have other humans that rely on botanics and evolve... ?

Ohh ok. ..it's in the affinity part.. so humans here are more robotic and alien like... sort of like purity. .. This is also the reason why there's water in be I'm guessing. Some other space games have had no water in space. ..

I still maintain that it is a bad idea and far too cliche to have a unification of all Western European countries. There would be too much animosity between very different cultures assuming it wasn't one nation (Germany per se) rolling over the continent

Sofar, previews only hint at a sort of (con)federation/union/league/cooperation between France, Spain, Portugal, and perhaps southern Belgium.

That much is obvious. Those 8 are just the ones capable of mounting/paying for such an expedition.

If there is an expansion, we will find out that other factions are capable of launching expeditions as well.
Hopefully some of them will be global/non territorial.

They're (Firaxis) definitely keeping the premises of the BE universe wide open at this stage.
