Beyond the Sword for Mac OS is Shipping!

I ordered mine from Amazon.com on July 30 (Thursday). I was really bummed that they said it wouldn't arrive until August 18-27 but I wasn't willing to pay the extra 10 dollars to get it from their seller Lake Place Games (which is right in my geographical area but has no brick-and-mortar). So, this morning I was super excited to get an e-mail from Amazon telling me that my copy will arrive on Tuesday, August 4!!! I can't wait to play!!!
 
Mine arrived today from Amazon UK.

Pre-ordered: 9 July
Original delivery estimate: 22-23 July
Updated delivery estimate: 21 August
Actual delivery date: 1 August - one week later than the original forecast.

Too busy with SGOTM 10 to install it now :(
 
Mine arrived in my hands today! It probably showed up yesterday, but I had it shipped to work and personal shipments that arrive via USPS don't get distributed until the next day.
 
Okay... surfacing from my WoW habit now that fatherhood has broken that particular spell. Off-line, turn-based games more compatible with diaper/feeding schedules. What's this? BtS for Mac? No kidding? Neato!

But wait... it's in everybody's hand, but not on store shelves? Not even the Aspyr Game Agent admits its existence? Nor is it on their website (unless you dig in support to help out the people smart enough to Amazon it)?

What am I missing? Is Dr. Horrible ever going to release this to we unwashed masses?

Oh, the game is out there. I haven't seen it in any stores, but Amazon should have plenty in stock by now.

I'm afraid that's what I'll have to do. I miss buying a box OTC. There's just something viscerally satisfying about carrying the loot through checkout, then unwrapping it, etc.

But I still wonder why Amazon was able to ship it out, but there is zero (0) mention of it on the Aspyr site. What kind of twisted, evil, behind-the-scenes politics are we missing out on?

Hi there.

Which Aspyr site are you looking at? www.aspyr.com has a reference to BtS in its Aspyr Buzz section on the right of the home page. BtS is listed in the Title menu under Find a Game, and either of these links will take you to http://www.aspyr.com/product/info/108

But apart from that? No, zero (0) mention of it on their site. :)
 
Mac BTS is shipping to me...

BtS is also not in Aspyr's list of products to register. I tried to register my copy, but was unable to. Also, is the serial number printed inside the case in the hard-to-read shiny plastic?

If you want to carry it out of the computer store, just go to your favorite Mac dealer and ask them to order it. They probably don't know that it is available. I ordered it through my local Mac dealer, who did not know it was available but, when they checked, their distributor had it listed, so they special ordered it for me. They called me when it came in and I picked it up yesterday. Although I installed and configured BTS to my liking, I haven't played it yet since I have a Vanilla game in progress at a very late stage in the game.

will it be compatible with the G5 proseser or not this could be the end of me playing the sims 2 for a while

but my current warlords seems to be glitchy like for example little squares smaller than the tiles with little icons on them appear on the map they bear icons of varous things from civ (leaders techs resourses and wonders) it is stopped for a certain amount of time by toggling tiles but it comes back this tends to happen in 24 civs can you plz telll me if this gets fixed with BTS?
 
Are you saying this only happens with 24 civs? Are you aware that 24 civs is not possible without a custom DLL? Please remember that the Mac versions of Civ4 and its expansions are incapable of running a custom DLL.
