BirdNES 2: Forge of Empires -- The Manonash

I will have to quit this nes.

I'm sorry, but i already missed 2 deadlines/orders.

It's only fair to the other players that are interested in this nes.

Greetings,

Asmarth

King Arta smiled, it was nice to know what one was going to do with ones life, and he had deceided at an early age that we wished to become the most loved man of Kiidor, and with that he had sought a more permanant peace with the Cantorians; which he felt had acheived. With Benkza Nokazth of the Razzak he had sent him pretty gifts for his birthday, wishing to develop their relationship and hoped to call him Friend. With the Tekashens he sent messages expressing his awe and wonder at their fleet and another expressing his deepest sorrow upon learning of their defeat at the hands of the Graznel. He associated with the most well known men of his time.

Which led him to ponder why his father had always told him to hold an audiance with his people at least twice every Double moon. The complaints of these farmers, and the worries of the fishermen only grated on his nerves, things that would usually be handled by the local administrator, The men in front of him were complaining about their fields and the ownership of a certain brook placed between them, it was totally inane. He consulted with his advisors and the local administrator told them his verdict and both men left satisfied.

Addressing his entrouge he said; "Right lets take a break there, I've had enough of these distractions, lets eat,"

"Sire the next man is extremly insistent he sees you, he has some funny ideas with numbers and bricks," A soldier at the door had just come in, he looked a bit crestfallen when he noticed all the frosty stares he was receiving

King Arta sighed then thought briefly, concluding that at least its different "Send him in,".

Prince Lalithe laughed gaily as he ran down the hill, THIS is what life should be for, persuing a life of happiness. Not stuck in a room with grouchy teachers and stuffy servants.

"Prince you must return to your studies, you know how angry your father gets when you run off,"

Cartaea was talking to him, a long drawn out monotone emitted from his mouth, it seemed to suck the enjoyment out of Lalithe
; a funny man with ideas about numbers and bricks his father had said, and he had been tasked with attempting to tear down these ideas of his. He was told it would sharpen his reasoning skills, Lalithe wasn't so sure for a start he always ended up sleeping when he began to talk.

He awoke again with a start, Lord Ramies had come in. "Ahhh hello Cartaea, King Arta tells me that Lalithe should be getting some instruction on the finer points of making war,"

"Well yes I suppose that that WILL improve our discussions if he knew at least the basics of making war,"

"Thanks Cartaea, say would you like to go hunting with me tommorrow, we should continue our discussions,"

"That would be wonderfull," Cartaea turned to his student "Run along, you have much learning to do,"

Prince Lalithe could not agree more.

"It is of my opinion that we must seeks some way to become more relevant to King Arta, we have been decaying into nothingness, our Priests most motivated priests stay in their small villages and accomplish little, whilst some of the larger temples have stagnated with their inability to change," Thata addresed the room of Priests and Priestess'. High Priest Gregarious was looking at him with hard eyes, many of the other Priests were nodding their heads however, the eternal dynamic, old versus young it never changed.

"The System is not broken Priest Thata, we teach the young, we give sermons on the Gods and we make sacrafices to please and appease those Gods, and the Kingdom has flourished," High Priest Gregarious replied, a bored tone in his voice, he had seen this before, the man would tire himself out and the Temples would remain.

"That is all well and good, but should we not seek more from our Gods? Do you not feel something is missing, that we are still seeking answers, even now? The Gods are not set in Stone, they have been called the wanderers before," Thata paused, some old heads had sighed, some young ones drew nearer curious "I see some of you know what I reference, there are six stars in the sky that wander accross every night, I will pose a question to you all, maybe these are not our gods, for it is true that there are only six, but perhaps they are our patron gods, they remain close to guide and protect us,"

A few old heads have looked up, a new angle was always appreciated, it gave them something to discuss at night before a comfortable fire.

"Should we not search for these other Patron Gods? That we may find our Cousins? It may take us many centuries but we should at least embark on this journey to explore and send these priests to other nations, and seek out the Lost,"

High Priest Gregarious smiled inwardly, a perfect opportunity to rid himself of these upstarts. He smashed his staff on the ground.

"I agree, it would serve us well to find our bretheran,"

Notes: Thus I propose to my kin of the same religion to name the first three wandering stars after our Patron Gods. i.e Fiidas, Razka an Teke.

Abaddon if you are indeed of our religion perhaps you would like to join in. As is I am [slightly] confused by your religion and what it entails.

Currently we have two people [at least] to find. Hopefully we'll have takers, and of course if we discover more planets then we can justify more peoples OR we can be very confused till we discover the planet OR we can be very confused till we cross space and time and reach new planets :p

We are an evolutionary Branch; Ahrkenßian Yiithism.

Our religion is still forming, as all are. Initial polytheistic beliefs were moulded into 4 sections for Ahrkenßism. With all the populace tooing and froing (as well as the understanding it would be benefitial) these beliefs are evolving to be more alongside Yiithism, thus Ahrkenßian Yiithism.

Can you point me to the basic beliefs of Yiithism?

Of Gods and sacrificial Goats

Aiken Drumn didn’t invent religion, but he certainly understood just how powerful it could be. Building a temple was the beginning of his plans. During his reign, religion had fascinated him ahead of all other aspects of human nature. The power of belief, the power he would control if he made his people believe.

To obtain his goals Aiken took some of the more favored native gods, spirits and tribal storys and molded and sculpted them into a religion divided by the seasons. The four gods of spring, summer, autumn and winter had aspects that everyone could find interest in, and feel the need to worship.

If a basic description of the four gods were asked, it would be as the scripture below

Serafina:Goddess of Spring
Also renewal, mother nature and good luck, wife of Germal

Often the favored god for the more agricultural professions. Her most ardent followers are the Green Robes

Geirmal:God of Summer.
Also War, Day, Drinking and Risk

Often the favored god for military and males. His most ardent followers are the Red Robes

Darkenns:God of Winter.
Also death, night, the sky

Not really favored, but everyone certainly doesn’t want to forget to prey to him! His most ardent followers are the Black Robes

Demetria:Goddess of Autumn.
Also harvest, industry and providence, wife of Darkenns

Often the favored god for the more mercantile professions. Her most ardent followers are the Brown Robes

There was no farfare when the first temple was built, but soon a grand one was planned, and with the promise of free breed to all worshippers it soon had them on their knees.

Of Gods of Gods

The Great God Ahrkenß stirred from his slumber. His monsterous eyes gazing around, into the endless Abyss that had been his prison for eternity. He reached out, gropeing at the aether. He could sense something was different, perhaps it was finally time.

For Ahrkenß was sealed in the Abyss by the Elder Gods. They had placed him in this prison to ensure a greater goal. Nothing could enter it, and until this point it had proven inescapable to Ahrkenß. They knew that something must survive; survive to bring forth life once more, to survive beyond the ultimate battle between good and evil.

The war between the Elder Gods was on a scale not witnessed before. Rebelling Gods vied to take control of the multiverse. Worlds collided as great powers rought destruction upon anything within their path. The war waged on for millennia, and would have continued to do so if not for their final act. In their final act, the Elder Gods banded together in order to defeat the rebellion. Their united force would cause the cataclysmic ending ending to the universe, with the very planes of existence shattering into infinite pieces. This ultimate sacrifice by the true gods had ensured life could begin again when it was time.

Like the seed which drift on the wind until it finds a suitable location, Ahrkenß had drifted through the Abyss; awake now, Ahrkenß set about preparing himself for the task ahead.

Yiithism is basically a polytheistic religion that has a group of neutral Gods and a group of Patron Gods. The Patron Gods remain most important to their 'chosen people' but are recongnised by the others. The basic structures of the belief vary from one nation to the next depending on how their priesthood[/god] organised it. The Neutral gods depict the various materialistic gods (God of Fertility and so forth).

The elderly Benkza Nokazth stood up from his chair with the help of faithful aide and close friend, Malu.

"Thanks for the help old friend. I am just no longer strong enough to do too much without help anymore," commented Benkza.

Malu smiled and then replied, "It is no trouble to help you at all Benkza. You have been great leader for our people; it is the least that I can do to help. Anyway, I assume you want to go Willow Hill?" questioned Malu.

Benkza nodded. "Yes, Willow Hill is one of my favorite places to visit, and even in my old age, I try to visit it at least once in a while." Benkza closed his eyes as if he were remembering all of the many nights he had spent on Willow hill. "There is just something about that place that peaceful and calming, especially when you gaze up at the night sky, and watch the twin moons and the six wandering stars. It soothes the body, and calms the mind. Come on, let’s get moving."

Willow Hill was a one of the tallest and largest hills in the capitol, but it still was relatively short. It had a gentle slope, with a flat plateau at the top. It had been cleverly named after the many willow trees that grew atop it. It was located somewhat near the edge of the city, but it still only a few minutes walk from the palace.

Upon arriving at the top of the hill Benkza and Malu laid down in the tall grass and they gazed up at the stars in silence. They remained this for many minutes, until they heard footsteps coming towards them. Both Benkza and Malu sat up to see that Nekku, a well-known priest now, was coming towards them. Nekku seemed surprised to see them at first, but then he bowed and said, "Greetings King Benkza. I did not know you came up here as well."

"It is good to see you Nekku," replied Benkza. "I do come up every once and a while to look at the stars and relax."

"Now that you mention the stars, I heard something interesting about the six wanderers in the sky from the Kazrasa just a few days ago," commented Nekku. "He heard that a priest from Kiidor suggested that they were the patron gods themselves."

Benkza's mind was already racing with the thoughts of what that would imply if it were true. "Wouldn't that mean that some of fellow believers have yet to be found?" questioned Benkza.

"Yes, yes it would," replied Nekku.

OOC: @Kal'thzar: Naming the first three wandering stars after our Patron Gods is a great idea, so I definitely agree with it. This also gives us an easy way to justify more people converting to Yiithism.

We request that one star is named Ahrkenßia.

Please post the names when you have then.

I cant even spell Abbadons with that weird German B. My star is Swiftalan. The enshrined family that are the forefathers of the Teka.

You can't even spell my name so I understand where the problem may be...

horrible joke. Personally I cant be bothered to memorize your name or scroll up to remind myself. You understand what I said so how bout a good 'ole STFU.

I'm going to call your star the rapid bob then :p as I really don't understand whats so impossible about spelling mine with a ß, or remebering a name that has so many references IRL.

Looks right to me.

Thank you. So only four of the six 'stars' have names?

Only four nations currently believe, but we also feel there are more nations out there, as yet unmet who share our goals. They will name the final stars.

(sorry for super long cross post, got distracted as I started to write it out! :)
