BirdNES 3: Discussions & Questions

Please don't punish nations themselves too severly for no orders. That could really hurt nations where it would have been just better to have a NPC. Like, if you run Portugal into the ground I'm in a lot of trouble...
Deterioration will not be too quick, but none-the-less it will come from neglect. It seems to me that first turn orders are important if a player is serious about a game. If there are reasons, then a quick pm always is a nice gesture and usually helpful too.

Portugal is an important nation at this time and it would be a shame for Warhead to let it fall apart.

This is an example of why the sign-up process should be more strictly regulated.
I do think that people should have the chance to sign up and play, but no orders, no dilpo and no communication is a pretty good sign of no real interest. I may open some nations up if the lack of interest continues.

das: Ivanograd does not seem to appear on any of my maps. Do you have a more specific location in mind than you provided?

If it helps, the Russian-langauge Wikipedia article for Ivangorod has a map of the Leningrad Oblast which shows where it is relative to the easternmost point of the Gulf of Finland.

Thank you; Google Earth has a nice view of it along with some photo links.

Lurker's comment: How come Granada hasn't fallen yet to the Catholic Kings? (IRL it happened in 1492). And, just so you know, Spain as a country didn't exist until Charles I, during Ferdinand & Isabella's reign Castile and Aragon were separate kingdoms with different goals.

lurker's comment: This sort of stuff is what the other thread is for, you know. Moderator Action: Yes, and moved it has been

Also: a) this is 1490 and b) it was a very close personal union nonetheless, and for all effects and purposes it might as well have been one state if not one country (but then, in a sense it hasn't been one country until the 18th century or even later). Lastly, the goals of the factions were different, but they always were; the Catholic Monarchs seem to have pursued shared goals, though.

EDIT: Nice to see you use your power for your own purposes, Birdjaguar. Welcome to the Dark Side. ;)

qoou: Do better research, Bianca Maria is my Niece, not daughter. ;)

Ah, fail... thanks for pointing that out though; it'd be embarrassing marrying someone not just younger than 18, but also younger than 0 :p.

lurker's comment: But I work for the greater good of all. :D

I didn't know there was a separate discussion thread until now. I knew there was something missing, I just couldn't quite place my finger on it. :run:

Anyway, BJ I realized I did two actions that required IP which I don't have, so can you ignore my policy for this turn? Also, was the story I sent in the right kind of thing you were looking for?

You have 3718 in new income and a treasury of 3000 that can be spent. All upkeep has been paid.

EDIT:
This is the line in the stats. It is bolded and the other lines are not.

Income/Treasury/Debt: 3718/3000/0

Do we only need to make one story? Because I made three.

There is no fixed amount. ATM I have lots for the update and some, from the prolific among you, have given me several pages. If I use them all, the update will be pretty huge. What I have is a wide variety of styles and I think that is good. When I get to that point, I will integrate them as best I can. At this point, no one should worry about their stories and do what is most comfortable. :)

I see the first few turns as a bit of a test for how well this approach works. So far, so good.

I just hope you won't totally neglect the actions without accompanying stories. ;)

Of course not, especially the assassination attempts by discontent slavic nobles on their would be leaders. :p

Now would be a good opportunity for me to point out that the Kremlin is, well, a fortress, and that I am surrounded by well-trained loyal utterly paranoid guards as well as combat-worthy boyars who know that their power depends on their influence at the court and on my good graces, and that if I were to be killed nothing would be certain anymore for the them, whereas if they were to save me from an assassin that would probably elevate them greatly.

Just, uh, by the way of random trivia. :p

I am just miffed I only have 1 incentive points Bird.

I can do a maximum of 2 things to keep myself safe in my mind. I mean, if it is that fragmented, maybe have more incentive points and multiple players??? (disregard the last sentance above)

I really have lots to do recently: Waiting for updates and waiting for the diplo for the updates.
