BirdNES 3: Discussions & Questions

I am just miffed I only have 1 incentive points Bird.

I can do a maximum of 2 things to keep myself safe in my mind. I mean, if it is that fragmented, maybe have more incentive points and multiple players??? (disregard the last sentance above)

I really have lots to do recently: Waiting for updates and waiting for the diplo for the updates.
IP are auto calculated based on a variety of facrtors including the loyalty of factions. I expect them to change frequently if not every turn. Being a king sometimes means making difficult choices. Figure out the best path for this turn and go with that. Do not expect to be able to do everything you want for every turn. Look carefully at what you can do without IP. many are quite useful and may even improve your IP count for next turn. ;)

Don't even go there BL.... ;)

There is no fixed amount. ATM I have lots for the update and some, from the prolific among you, have given me several pages. If I use them all, the update will be pretty huge. What I have is a wide variety of styles and I think that is good. When I get to that point, I will integrate them as best I can. At this point, no one should worry about their stories and do what is most comfortable. :)

I see the first few turns as a bit of a test for how well this approach works. So far, so good.

Is it ok if I make one long story about just one action rather than a number of short one's?

That would be fine. Are you think for turn 1 or future turns?

I haven't checked the thread, but just wanted to make sure if people understood my message from WWW.

I am semi-quitting all NESes because of a sudden rise of personal issues. I would prefer being NPC'ed, but you can kick me if you want. Also, BJ may make Sweden revolt whether he want it or not.

I moved your post to the discussion thread. I am not sure what you mean by semi-quitting. It is hard to NPC a nation where the player has never sent orders since thre is no sense of direction or spending or goals at all.

Do you want me open Sweden and Kalmar to other players? Or do you think you will get things resolved in a couple of weeks?

Heck, everything I've written so far is technically different parts of one big story (though a one that is supposed to eventually touch just about everything else, mind you), and I intend to continue this into next turn.

My story was a cheap paragraph I threw together just so I could have a story. :(

I'll try to write a better quality one(s) next time, Birdy, I promise!

Any chance that I might be able to join?

Sure do you have a nation preference?

At the moment these are open:
Kalmar Union
Sweden
Teutonic Knights
Safavids
Mayan revival
Several Indian nations

I suspect that Portugal will be open soon since Warhed has not sent any orders, nor responded to pms even when he is around.

Well, one that won't have much problems and that is half-powerful right now. Perhaps the Portuguese, who are the most likely to discover America if we play it right...

I understand the rules well, but there are parts that are quite complicated, like the "Policies" thing. Some help would be nice.

Post your general questions here if you like, or if they are more private, pm me, and I will reply after breakfast. I see warhead is around; maybe he will clue me in as to whether he is actually going to play. :shake:

Actually, I would like to drop Vijayanagar. Life is too hectic, but I'll be lurking to see how this goes, BJ!

So noted. Thanks for telling me. :)

Bird, I'm interested in playing a bank. I assume that's no problem and I can participate in the next turn?

To the other players: I haven't decided yet where I want to set up my offices. Feel free to PM me and convince me that setting up an office in your nation will be profitable for both you and me. I am most interested in settling near the Mediterranean Sea, but I can be convinced otherwise by a particularly convincing and intelligent PM.
Welcome to NESing Danny D.You are welcome to try a banking role, but, given that we have three already, it may be tough. I am willing to try though if you can fnd a place for your Home office. I can add you when I post the first update, but you can engage in diplo now.

I would welcome him settling in Alexandria.. why can't the rest of the world have bankers?

At the moments its almost a bit unfair only europe can get loans...

@Abaddon: That's because we Europeans are far more advanced than you heathens will ever be. (Not to be taken as an insult towards any non-Christian person, it's only in-game)

Also, I wish to state that, unless Warhead says the opposite, I'm taking up the mantle of Portugal. I've sent my orders, Birdjaguar, and hope that they are OK.

Abaddon of all people complaining about something being unfair... :p

Plus, there are NPC banks too abaddon. Have you tried asking bird about them? ;)

I had no idea there were NPC banks...

I also don't understand what you mean about the first sentance, i'll take it as a low level troll?
