If by loan you mean several SC's and by Ditech you mean Carthage and UBP. The northernmost Italian armies managed to hold off Carthage for a few months, but the weight of the Carthaginian fleet was too much to bear for those on the peninsula, and Rome was the next city in line to fall after Florence.
