I need to get into DOS from my Windows 2000 load so I can run a disk utility program from my hard drive manufacturer. Does anybody know how I do this?

I tried to make an Emergency Repai Disk, but that is not a bootable disk, and I have no idea how to make one in NT.<-- Er, 2000 --)

Thanks
Edit for a correction.

OK......The only way to get to DOS in Win2k is to get a Win98 boot disk and boot then.

But Win98 won't be able to see the data on the hard drive if you formatted in NTFS. But if your in FAT32 it shouldn't be a problem.

Good Luck.

OK.....found my 98 disk, by luck. Ran the HardDrive utility, and it told me my HDD is running fine. Wrong!
I think I could have made the 4 disk boot set that Windows 2000 can make and that would have allowed me to run a DOS program.
Yes/No?

That's an excellent question.

An optimist would always say yes...and a pessimist would always say no. So.....I'm going to say, maybe.
