This month's Deity game saw 114 submissions, which has to be some kind of record. Sure, the fact that it didn't actually play out quite like your average Deity game may have had something to do with that... Plenty of good results all around, but Duckweed nails first place for the second game in a row! Special honors go to shyuhe and Earthling for choosing the Challenger save! But perhaps most impressive of all: jesusin - the fastest victory of all is... a Diplomatic victory! :goodjob:

I hope you all found this game fun to play, even if it probably didn't live up to what was on the box, for better or worse. I also hope that many of you found that Deity AI are only as scary as the setup allows them to be, and that more of you will dare to challenge them in future games. And to those who were disappointed by finding the game far easier than your normal Deity game - your prayers will not go unanswered... :mischief:

Ah, so that's what you've been busy with, Niklas. Smurkz needs Our Leader back on SGOTM11--no time to waste on sleep. ;) Hmm, but perhaps you're not finished with this yet? The Results page doesn't offer BOTM28 as an option, for instance.

Oops, I was so certain I had pressed to publish. Oh well, fixed now, thanks! :)

- the fastest victory of all is... a Diplomatic victory! :goodjob:

Words can travel faster than armies, my friend... and there are tongues sharper than swords!

Thanks for a very fun setup... even though recognizing the situation and adapting to it wasn't so easy!

Congratulations to all who won, you don't beat Deity every day!
Nice spoilers too :goodjob:

What happened to Ribannah's amazing spaceship victory date?

IIRC, Ribannah has some irrepressible problems with HoF mod checker

Congrats to babybluepants, mdy, mushroomshirt, Mutineer, mystyfly, RRRaskolnikov, shyuhe, and Silu. :goodjob:

Who's this jesusin guy, anyway...?

Fastest and slowest :religion: all in one... does that make me an Ascendant?

Edit as afterthought: Oh yeah... all the other award winners had great games too... congratulations.

IIRC, the shield is lowest scoring, not slowest.

Just thought the distinction needed to be made

Yes, good point. Fastest, slowest, lowest scoring, and highest scoring religious victory all in one. Too bad only Fastest and Lowest scoring gain recognition with awards. ;)

Speaking of fastest, congraz to Swashbuckler. for being the fastest realtime win, in the 2000's no less! Beat by 8 minutes... :)

This sounds juicily ominous :D

Some of the faster dates are very good, but I can't help but feel no one really exploited F4 espionage to get a really fast conq/dom date. I, for one, was completely confused about what to do in this game. It was just really hard to believe deity AI's could be as bad as early intel indicated, and later there were too many options for how to win.

Congrats to babybluepants, mdy, mushroomshirt, Mutineer, mystyfly, RRRaskolnikov, shyuhe, and Silu. :goodjob:
Some people get congrats without even playing. Good deal. ;)

Edit: Ribannah's game was really impressive. Too bad.

^^ I take it for the last deity BOTM... no problem :D

Amazing participation (that's Niklas who must be happy) and results anyway! (and go OSS :goodjob:)

Spoiler Niklas :
get ride of me on "that" game and I will get to play more BOTMs :p (or no, just don't...)

Look- the only way this is even fair is if there is gold, silver or gems in the bfc around that PH. Or else in a grab-able location for a 2nd city. Stone too. How else are we going to win a Deity game without special gifts from the Deities? Like, a la Perseus, magic armor, helmet, sword...
