BOTM 60 Final Spoiler

After my great start - 2 warriors took Beijing from a single warrior defender in 3240bc, he built a worker the turn before I attacked which was a nice bonus - I went for Astro.

End result was a 1210ad conquest victory, Egypt & Vikings succumbed to Maces, but I conquered the other continent almost exclusively with Camel Archers, which were awesome against a Prince AI.

Thanks for the game, I haven't played pure military for a while.

I played a very unfocused game. My main objective was to see if I could create a legendary city from spies.

In the classical era I was attacked by China, who also bribed Ragnar into the war. I had conquered a barbarian city and settle a second city north of China. These two cities held of Ragnar while I slowly fought china while trying some kind of specialist economy.

I took three cities from China before making peace. Among them where Confucianism holy city and Beijing. Ragnar founded Hinduism, Hatshepsut founded Judaism and spread it to me. I also bribed Hatshepsut into the war. So we now had two factions that hated eachother on the continent. Next war I had camel archers against longbow men and reduced China to one city. Hatshepsut peacevassaled to me. I continuously gave her good tech deals to be able to use her research.

At this time I had started to work on my three legendary cities. Najran, culture from cottages, Nanjing, culture from espionage and Mecca, culture from wonders. I probably could have saved a few turns by moving my capital to Najran and revolted to Bureaucracy. Still I did not consider my game competitive. Only reason I can think of why Nanjing did not flip was that it was their capital, can someone confirm that?

Next time perhaps I will try to get three cities legendary from espionage.

Any city can flip, even if it is their capital and more importantly, their last city.

Dhoomstriker confirmed this a while back by winning an infamous conquest victory when we were locked into peace with Tokugawa.

Really? I guess I was very lucky then since I took my time.

I must be getting :old:, it took me until 1942 to win both Diplomatic and Space victories. I could have subjugated the Weakings in the end but chose to ensure that I have the time to finish this before the deadline. Did kill Egypt and China but much later than some. Enjoyed some quests, nice variety even though I failed Greed, that closest iron city was just too far away and I had better things to do than get my camels killed by Weaking riflemen. Nice and easy difficulty for a change. Couldn't have done it on immortal.
Now to get some  before getting :whipped: to death at work.
And :bday: :jesus:. See you soon...

I know you want to keep things tidy, but maybe BOTM 59 should be unstickied first? :p

Results soon by any chance? :)

Umm. BOTM 59 is not stickied, and its results have been published. They are still sticky because they were the last ones to be published. The only stickied BOTM that I can see is BOTM 61, which is alive and active.

The BOTM 60 results? They are work in progress currently.

Yeah, a Christmas present.

Sorry, real life got in the way yesterday. But even though - or maybe because - it's Christmas - the results are now up!
