Botwawki 2.6

Of course 3.

But then after that, combination of 1 & 2. write updates until out of time then write short epilogue. I really like the idea of epilogue. If you can only do updates or epilogue, do epilogue.

An epilogue is promised, regardless of the decision made.

1 & 3! That being said, I would love to see a version 3.0 of this in the future.

Version 3.0 for reference will be what the original of this was intended to be: Florida only, with a lot more emphasis on careful management of resources. Really, thanks to the rule changes and so forth that took place, this version was too easy. I really wanted a lot more fighting over scrap and smaller factions. This game expanded into far more territory than I wanted it to, allowing people to build up more quickly than expected.

That would certainly be fun as well. I'd be interested in that... and be glad to try something different, this time...

2, just so we can see the epilogue.

Honestly I'm actually super interested in the Adventures of the Traveller at this stage. What do you plan on happening with that?

Well I want to finish out the story that we have going with the Traveler. There's a lot left to what's going on, and some more dramatic reveals coming. On that note, what is the level of interest among ya'll in a D&D style RPG thing taking place over IOTchat based in the botwawki world?

I have a bit of a ruleset sorted out for it, based on what I've done with the Traveler, but I was unsure whether or not it would be worth it to give it a try. If there's no one up for trying it, not going to bother thinking it out further. My current thought is it would take place over multiple session one night a week, and be sort of open world D&D, certainly more open with options than the Traveler has been.

Not a huge fan of IOTCHAT RPG. Others will be though, which is a shame for me because your modding time will go to that and not forum games. :(

I agree with Immac. I'd certainly participate, but I'm more interested in a more traditionally formatted game. That being said, do whatever is more fun for you.

I vote for 3. Viva la Revolution!

Also agree with Immac and thomas.

Fair enough, main problem with traditional format is that it's fairly impossible to do a properly executed RPG in a forum, thanks to the whole timescale problem. I mean there's ways, just not particularly efficient ones.

Ultimately EQ, you have to moderate what interests you. You are one of the most prolific and dedicated moderators our community has and if something interests you, you'll do it well and you'll have players and an audience. If it doesn't interest you, meh... <shrugs> ... why do it? So even if Thomas and I like something else, do what you like.

Its like field of dreams...

Spoiler If you build it they will come. :

Oh, all right. Misunderstood there.

As started, I have plenty of ideas for smaller scale games, from the old Prohibition game that I used to run on occasion on the NES forums to repeating this in a smaller environment.

EDIT: @Immaculate: Oh I understand that completely. Problem is that botwawki still interests me to the point where I can't make up my mind whether or not to try to squeeze in a couple more updates before I can't do it anymore. If it was an easy decision, I wouldn't be putting it out to everybody.

Well, is it the Fallout world that still interests you? Or is it this particular BOTWAWKI game? or both?

If you feel this has grown too unwieldy, running something new (or this again, with a smaller scope) with more fine-tuned rules might be good. HOWEVER, if you think that you can continue to squeeze life out of this game, then lets keep going.

Based on your continued interest in this game and reduced availability of 'time resource' may i then suggest option 4?

Option 4) continue at a reduced pace with updates produced at 0.5 to 0.3 x the previous schedule.

@Immaculate: I considered moving to the more feasible once a month update system, but frankly, I don't like that. I've been there before with Capto Iugulum, and really it's too easy to lose interest in a game that updates so slowly (for players and myself). A fun game should ideally be once a week in my opinion.

@Thomas: I like the world we have here, a lot. The Fallout setting is just a bonus. That's why I'll keep pushing ahead with the Traveler, and maybe even do a sequel to it.
