We may send help, but we need a good reason to fight a threat so far south. We hope that the queen understands that we are business people.

Is the prevention of the destruction of civilization not enough of a price for you? This is a time that will mark out Humanity and those too cowardly or greedy, and the wasteland will remember and reward those who stick together.

At EQ:

Do I know what is going on at the Sunshine Kingdom?

@Seon: They have radio broadcasts and you likely have standard radios, so I'm going to go with yes.

Morality is something that fades in these dark days, and promises are not an ideal payment. However, we will not ignore this threat. We are interested in helping, but only with the following conditions:

-You should be eternally grateful for our intervention. In other words, you will never raise arms against us. Never.

-You will not deny our products in your markets, whatever they may be.

-The only military equipment that we ask is one Power Armor Suit. We know that the fight will be tough, but you have nine of these.

Agree with these terms and 300 of my men will help you. Deny them and your people will bleed.

The kingdom will NOT be extorted.

(Additionally, the power armor suits are not ours to give. They are issued to a family for posterity, and have been modified with their coat of arms.)

If I didn't know better, I'd think that Golden1Knight's been jaded by his experience in Arrow/Immac NES.

It's a shame that you refuse our fair deal. We wish you luck in this conflict, you will need.

Living and learning. :D

Methinks that there is a difference between being a bit jaded and being...well...insane.... :p. I don't know about other part but indefinite cessation of hostility imposed on only one side of the treaty is basically unrealistic, don't you think?

Well, the Corporation is composed of greedy men, motivated by profit. Do not expect help from them if you have nothing to give in return. Nothing unrealistic here. About the treaty to cease hostilities, it would be a bit wrong to attack those who came to your rescue in the past. The CEO is a businessman, so he obviously would like to have it written, mainly because of lack of material reward.

If I wanted to act in an immature and irrational way, the first thing I would do would be eradicate the Brotherhood, and then attack the Kingdom, that is already under a tough situation. But I do not mix things, and what happened in the other NES belongs only to the other NES. I will not behave like a child.

Yeah, but the thing is that an indefinite cessation of hostilities necessarily needs to come with a list of detail considering what the exact definition of "hostilities" must mean and the responsibilities that each government must hold in order to continue on with peace.

It's not just "You will swear not to attack us anymore." You have to make it clear what "attack" means. Preferably, you ban ways that another party can cause hostilities towards each other or otherwise cause friction between nationalities, unless you purposefully want the treaty to be lopsided as possible (which, in my opinion, is a really bad idea for BOTH parties to agree to).

For example, in the case with negotiating with thomas.berubeg, I'm pretty certain that you can arrive at a better conclusion for both of you by detailing out what exactly you want to be selling to his markets (which would provide you with a significant population of customers and will be beneficial for you) and try to sell it in a way that makes thomas.berubeg willing to accept. As long as you aren't trying to sell, say, slaves, on his market, I'm pretty certain that his desperation will make him willing to accept anything.

In addition, while power armors are off, maybe you can get something else from him? The Kingdom is rich after all.

By the way, I for one, though, try my earnest now to follow exactly worded and fair treaties. I still haven't broken mine with you :p.

But come over that river to my territories or approach Ocala and all bets are off.

In fact, the proposal was made with the goal of being refused. I will not reveal my reasons, but I can explain some things. First, obviously the Queen would not accept our products (drugs and slaves) in her lands. The Queen also would not give one of her armors, since they are not just weapons, but somehow represent the monarchical system of her kingdom. The unilateral non-aggression pact was the icing on the cake.

I (IC and OOC) would not be willing to sacrifice my men and resources to protect other faction. But I needed a diplomatic excuse, and nothing better than to offer help, and be refused. I could just ignore the request for help, but it could still be an excuse for someone to attack me in the future.

I apologize if I was not clear, but it's hard as hell to try to explain it all in English. But I thank you for your attempt to advise me in this matter. About our agreement, I'm sure Allan will not break it.

That is wise.

Smart man :p

We've heard about your troubles recently. We can probably send a hundred volunteers or so up north to you. The Union has always believed in cooperation, even if you are a neo-necro-imperialist autocracy. However, cooperation does flow both ways; we'd like to mark a clear border between our states for resource salvaging, seeing if (once we triumph) we can work out some military assistance for dealing with a mirelurk infestation (what with your power armor and rippers and what not) and some other deals in that vain.

But we can work on those latter.

Looking at the troubles in the area, I think we should take the next step and unify. We're sorry about keeping you out earlier, but that was in response to supply problems. We fully unite and the production from both Indians Hideout and Liberty City will keep us supplied and well of for a long time. We can then fully invest in developing your site, and can make a home for even more people that need shelter from the wastes.

What sort of laws would fill ya? We can't just go and right a law book with no input. If enough people want it, we'll implement it, same as ever.

The Sunshine Kingdom would be happy to establish a solid border between ourselves and the union, and form an eventual military alliance.

That is, of course, acceptable.

Additionally, we would like to formalize a boundary between our lands in Orlando, to limit friction and conflict.

Good.

While we won't relinquish salvage claims to Orlando, we are willing to partition portions of it in order to keep the peace.

We would not expect you to relinquish salvage claims. Orlando is a large place and will likely provide resources for both out factions for years and years to come.

A bit behind on things, as I was doing upgrades (quickly followed by repairs) on my computer at home all weekend. I actually was unable to recover control of my jump drive, and won't have that until Tuesday or Wednesday. Therefore, the update will be a bit slow in coming, and I may postpone until next week. Carry on.
