So what else would we exchange Alphabet for if they only offer CB and Pot as the techs ...

Cash ? ... How much
Worker ? ... it would have to be moved up to us ... same route as their warrior

Alphabet is 30 more beakers than CB and Pottery combined so we need 10 gold +1gpt for fair value. I doubt they would go for it - I wouldn't give up gpt this early. Something like "We need fair value for Alphabet - CB and Pottery combined are worth less than Alphabet, but if you have a tech like Warrior Code then Warrior Code + Pottery for Alphabet would be an even trade." (I would ask for WC + Pottery and hope they "talk us into" WC + CB and then get Pottery from Donuts).
