[BtS] Amra's Modpack v3 for Beyond the Sword

Thanks for answering me.
I've played as English civ, the German and the Minoan were present (our three are white!) so a little difficult to see in the map.
So I change to Macedonian civ and then two things happened: I included a screenshot for you to see, may be one of them you already know it.
1)one of the Sweeden city has a different name:*_text_Key_city_name_Orebro
2)and Navajo leader (only Him) appears different in the first time, after that all is fine.
if you already know those, please forget it and excuse me, just thought you wanted to know.
maybe it's only in my pc this happens.Anyway, thanks again for everything.

I wasn't aware of those bugs so thanks for telling me. I'll work on fixing them. :goodjob:

amra can I playtest your excellent looking so far Advanced mod?
Of course, the more the merrier. I thought I would have a second Beta ready for testing by tonight but that just doesn't look like it will happen now. So I'm going to try and get as much as possible done and uploaded by Friday night so anyone who wants to can play with it this next weekend.

Bear in mind, it is not the finished mod but will have the new religions, resources, corporations, and some of the new techs & buildings in place. The Revolution & DCM mods were in my testing Beta#1 and seem to be working well. I don't think I will have any of Avain's Modern Era Expansion in place yet though. I'm trying to proceed at a slow even pace and not just toss everything in the blender & hope I get a fruit smoothie. :yumyum:

I'll PM you on Friday with the link.

No problem, I took it as a compliment. :D

Amra, when you have free time(almost impossible, I know!) could you please have a look in this thread:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/downloads.php?do=file&id=6629 Dale's civ customiser not Dale's combat Mod.
that's what I was asking if you could make work together with your mod.Sorry to bother you, if can't be, it's OK, last time I'll talk about it.Thanks for your marvellous work.

Hi rebakan,
That is the component that was included in Dale's Combat Mod v1.5 that won't work with Revolution, or at least I don't know how to make them work together.

Dale included it with DCM but it just doesn't play nice with the Revolution mod. Sorry. :(

Just a bit of a non sequitur . . . . having played v3.02 on both XP and Vista I think that Vista has an order of magnitude more Memory Allocation errors. The game is 18 civs on a Huge map. Any thoughts??

I haven't had any experience whatsoever with Vista but have read on the forums here that it is, as you've said, worse in general for Civ4.

I recently added another GB of Ram to my system for a total of 3GB now. That in combination with the steps outlined in this thread have allowed me to play a Large map on normal speed without any MAF's. That wasn't possible before. Tonight I'm going to simulate a Huge map at Epic speed to see what it does on the Amra Advanced Beta 2 version that I just sent to testers.

FYI, the MAF fix didn't work well for me UNTIL I had 3GB of RAM (my system was unstable with it when I had only 2GB) and if you try it I would suggest doing the dual boot option it explains so that you can still boot your machine if there are problems. Obviously, read thru the thread thoroughly before trying anything and, as always, don't do anything to your computer if you are unsure of what you are doing.

hey, A'
you wanna get revolution and the combat mod together?
Hi keldath,
Thanks but I've already got the Revolution and DCM mods working together (without any crashes so far) in an unreleased "Advanced" version of my mod but I've purposely chosen not to include the Civ Customizer option of DCM.

It was giving me issues when I originally tried to merge it and to tell the truth, it's just not a component I wanted to use. All other parts of DCM are included and I'm fine with that.

Thanks again, though. :D

Amra

any eta on when the new version will be uploaded ? I am looking forward to playing the full version

Thanks

Thanks and as SoG said, it is currently being tested. I just finished up the second Beta and the next version in about 2 or 3 weeks (probably closer to 3) will be posted for all to try.

Thanks Amra, the MAF error resolution in the thread you provided was quite self explanatory so I'm downloading CFF Explorer and will have a go at modifying the "Vista" exe files. Should be fun!! Hopefully Vista will handle physical and virtual memory allocations better than XP !?! :crazyeye:

Its actually good as i've wanted to modify some exe header in the past and didn't have a tool available (I haven't done machine language programming for many years now). Will let you now how it turns out . . . . I've got a week off so even if vista dies  I have time to fix it.

Double check everything in that thread before modifying your exe as I don't think you need to do that for Beyond the Sword, that was just for Warlords. I think Firaxis modified their exe before releasing BtS.

All I did on my (WinXP Pro) computer was add the new /3GB and the /Userva switches after getting my physical ram up to 3GB. BTW, I did run AIAutoplay on a Huge map at Epic speed last night and no MAF, so that was a good sign.
