[BtS] CivFusion

That's awesome news...CivFusion is one of the best mods available for BTS.

Is the patch coming out today? I wouldn't mind downloading that here at work.

I'm using 0.64 with Civ IV/BTS 3.13. I have revolution and logging disabled. I have used bccedit etc. to let Civ IV/BTS use 3GB of memory.

Its real early in a game (the save file is about 186KB) and I saved it. Now it always crashes either when I load the game or after I load it and issue a couple of commands (but haven't ended the turn yet). I had played another game with this mod for about four times as long (before deciding to abandon it and start another game) without any problems. Suggestions?

Load to menu first (as opposed to loading a savegame file direct from windows) then load the closest autosave to your normal savegame. WHat you're describing only happened to me once, but yeah that's how I got around it....

Thanks, but I already tried that.

So you tried loading the closest autosave file?

Damn... :(

What about other autosaves (Earlier ones)? What happens when you create a new game?

Can you attach your savegame so that either myself or Ripple or one of the other guys Ripple's talking to testing-wise can take a look at it?

Are you using CivComplete? Or anything wierd like that?

I don't have CivComplete. I no longer have any of the saved games, but thanks for the offer to look at them. I've switched to playing another mod, I'll give this one a try again after the next release.

Wow! I am in a game in Renaissance era and this mod is great!! Just thought I would share that. It's very stable and adds alot of great features to the game!

Thanks so much for the kind feedback; I'm glad you are enjoying the mod.

The next version, 0.70, is currently in alpha testing and will be a significant upgrade to 0.64. We are aiming for a Early/Mid August release date, so keep your eyes peeled!

I sure hope you keep working on this mod! It is really great! I wonder if there is any way you can make the game even more dynamic, cause while it does seem to make the game seem a little less like a rat race to the finish, it doesnt completely allow for empires to rise and fall still.. They more rise and stay there.

I also just had my first lockup in late renaissance, that sucked..

Ripple is still working on it, it's just that (without stealing his thunder) the next release is... well... big. :)

As for how dynamic you want the game to be, depends on the options you choose... I see empires rise and fall all the time in my games. The game I'm playing at the moment Roosevelt was owning everyone (myself included), but he dropped the ball or something, because he got hit with revolts left right and centre - now the former (and quite strapping) American Kingdom is four seperate bitterly opposed little vassals/kingdoms. They've quite literally geon from the very top of the pecking order to pretty much at the bottom...

As for lockups/CTDs, this mod has a lot of content in it. Civ4 is known for issues with Memory Allocation, and MAF (Memory Allocation Failures) will get worse as your game progresses, with more units being in the mix and larger civs. I find breaking my games into shorter multiple sessions helps, but it depends on what's "Under the Hood" as far as your PC is concerned.

Is there a patch for 3.17?

Hmmm... it must be very big indeed, taking more than a month so far... does anybody know when it comes out?

Hoping for the end of August, but more realistically maybe mid-September. Extensive testing is going into this release so it is not so bug-riddled as 0.60 was. I am preparing a beta release for some internal testers that is 3.17 compatible.

And, yes, there are some major improvements that will (I hope) justify the extended time it is taking to release. When the beta version gets in a little more complete state, I'll post some teaser screenshots. In the meantime, stay tuned...

Hey guys,

I like this mod so much I had to register to give kudos. It runs very stable on my computers running civ4 3.13. We have played LAN games with three people and it works great until one of us tries to bribe a city that is worsening in revolt status. After one of us does that we get an error about the game going out of sync. We can still play, but the error stays on the bottom of the screen.

Besides that it runs perfectly. Great mod!

Hi ammut,

Thanks for the kind words; glad you are enjoying the mod. I am unsure what would be causing that out of sync error. When the next version is released (0.70) please report back if you are still experiencing it.

And to provide an update, 0.70 is coming together nicely, although a little slower than expected. I have already sent out 4 alpha versions to the testers, and will be sending them the first (very stable) beta this week. There are a few more bugs to squash and then we will get this out to everyone to play. It is a HUGE update; the changelog is quite long and because of my great testers (Uncle Anton and Edward the Big, you guys rock!) the 0.70 final should be very bug free.

Cheers,

ETA on the new version? :crazyeye:
