[BtS] CivFusion

I see them too, but I did notice on one game there were no blue circles anywhere near my spawn point... so maybe: your maps sucked. :mischief:

Any news on the fix for the Via Appia problem? As it stands now, It is my understanding .62 will not work because of this.

I can play .61 for now, I guess. But if it is a simple fix, a quick upload would be appreciated.

Thanks for your work. This mod rocks!

Yes, I will be uploading a patch tonight that will fix this.

It also includes a special bonus: I have managed to include the Mastery Victory by Sevo, updated to BtS by avain. This new victory condition takes into account a broad spectrum of your civilizations acheivements to determine the winner of a game and overrides all of the other victory conditions. Unfortunately, at the moment, the Mastery Victory is set as the default "Play Now" setting. I am trying to figure out how to have it default to disabled.

What happened to the blue circles when you have a settler out looking for a place to settle?

on my quick game, I noticed there were no blue circles....I play on Noble.

If you start as the Egyptians in RoM there's no "blue circle". Anyway, it's quite possible to found a city without it: just turn on "Food" and "Resources" display and check out what you want. (I always found cities like that.)

Keep it up, ripple01! (Looking forward to Mastery Victory, hope you fihure it out.)

Patch 0.63 posted. See 1st post for download (note: it requires Patch 0.62)

0.63

Added Mastery Victory by Sevo, avain
Fixed incorrect Confucian Academy cost
Fixed missing Via Appia button
Set Stack Attack, Opportunity Fire, and Active Defense from DCM to Off by default (they were causing CTDs)

One note about the Mastery Victory: Currently, I have not found a way for me to set the Mastery Victory off by default. The Mastery Victory, when, selected, overrides all of the other victories. If you want to set the Mastery Victory off by default, you will need to open up the CivilizationIV.ini file in My Documents/My Games/Beyond The Sword. Scroll down to the GAME subsection where you will find the following:

; Victory Conditions
VictoryConditions = 111111111

Simply change this to the following:

; Victory Conditions
VictoryConditions = 011111111

and you are done.

As soon as I can find a way to control this from the mod itself, I will set the Mastery Victory off by default. You will be able to access it by going to custom game.

Bad news Ripple,

1) The traits still aren't fixed. The XP 25% discount itself might be the issue, as Tactical doesn't seem to be giving the XP discount (You may remember I found the same issue with Charismatic in .61 and .62)

2) I think I may have found a potential factor with Point 1. I've been playing with Dale's Civ Customiser turned on. Now, although when I first reported this bug, I had it turned off, I've found that NEITHER of the two traits work with a leader with it turned on - example, I'm playing as the Germans, with Supplia-whatshisface as the leader. Created units are neither getting Combat I nor the Protective bonuses. So maybe Civ Customiser has an issue... but regardless, the traits for just running with normal leaders don't seem to be playing ball either.

3) Turned off Civ Customiser, and Unrestricted Leaders doesn't work. You check the Unrestricted Leaders checkbox, but the Civ still automatically selects for the appropriate leader, and cannot be moved from that Civ.

That's all for this post, as I've edited twice already. If/When I find anything else, I'll make a seperate post.

Ah yes, that's the thing that I forgot in my first post. I can second that the 25% xp discount is not working. And I figured the Civ Customiser was disabled because it didn't work with the new traits or what not so I dismissed it. I haven't tested the unrestricted leaders myself yet tho.

Hmm, very strange about the 25% xp discount. I didn't modify that code at all nor does anything I added mess with that code to my knowledge. You are correct in that the Civ Customizer is not working correctly, I'm wondering if some of the code is causing these problems, I'm going to start testing by removing all of the Civ Customizer code in there.

Whatever version I use of Civfusion, I get random CTD's. I can play on with the auto saves, but having a ctd after every 2-3 turn gets annoying. I do use civ 4 complete... The only good thing is that civfusion atleast runs. Most mods dont work at all for complete.
The CTD are always when i press a oversee button (where you can see your research or civics) or when the new turn starts and someone starts to talk to me.
I hope there is a solutions for this... civfusion would be another 10x more fun if there where no CTD's.:p

I seem to get CTD when getting into WB not every time it seems to be quite random usually its tiny map 15-20 civs

xanhou, what map size are you playing on and how many civs? Are the CTD's happening in the later stages of the game?

Anyone else experiencing any crashes with 0.63? I have not...

Cheers,
ripple01

I used your earth map with 18 civs. And the first crash is afther around 30 turns afther that they keep coming back. And the further I go the more they come. afther 8 restarts of the game i can only play several turn. I can make it a bit longer by not clicking any button that is not nessecery to click... I do use windows Vista. I also tried to run the game under xp (still on my vista) but that didnt work.

By the way, I remember that I also had these crashes with 0.55
I dont think its the new patch, just my pc or settings.

xanhou, have you tried using another map other than the included earth map? Maybe that map is causing problems...

Cheers,
ripple01

It isnt the map. I tried another game and I got the same problem... I think its a combo of vista and civ complete (although I repaired my installdir).

And for everyone who has problems with there installdir from civ 4 complete: start cmd or run and type regedit. From there you can do that staps seen in this post: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=6367135&postcount=787
(it took me hours to find out how to start regedit).

well for now i keep playing rom.

I decided to rebuild the SDK from scratch, and I am glad to report that I have fixed the wonky issues with the traits not working. I have, at the moment, removed the Civ Customizer and Change Civ components from Dale's Combat Mod. If/when I can determine that they play nice, I will add them back in. I used RevolutionDCM's SDK as a starting point for the rebuild, so Influence Driven War is now included in CivFusion as well. :)

I am hoping that the cleaned up DLL will also fix some of these CTD's that people have been reporting. I will be releasing a new patch in the next day or so with the new .DLL.

Cheers,
ripple01
