A few updates; we are still working on Hitler but you can see the progress in my Leaderhead Gallery (check my signature for a link). The Puerto Rican unit preview should be up on Tuesday (hopefully, I just have a couple more units to make, then I have to reskin the Lechonera) although I may consider NOT having a preview just to keep Madman on edge :p .

Another thing I am going to need help with is the expanded future era. I wanted to basically add Next War to the mod and then add a few techs, units and buildings (perhaps "future" civics) but I needed some ideas so we can maintain balance throughout this expanded future era.

I have the first idea for a tech/ability; Terraforming! Avain made THIS SWEET MOD that I think would be perfect for a late/future era ability and technology. But I need more ideas, so anyone with a sci-fi inclination would help me greatly in this area.
 
Another bit of good news. It seems I am coming very close to getting my request for a Hittite three man chariot thanks to ambrox62. Check it out!

The Hittites will be one of the civs that appears in the module pack that will be released with new version of Diplomacy. So they will appear as a playable civ in Diplomacy 2 Deluxe as well.

I've never actually -gotten- to the future tehcs in any of the mods that add Next War, so I'll have to go look into Next War before I can offer any suggestions on how to balance.
I can only say this: If you add future techs, make sure you can't get to them early on.
Seriously. That's so damn annoying in Extra. Whoever builds the Pyramids ends up with a really powerful civic early on. I'd suggest either changing 'mids and SP so that they have different effects, or maybe fixing it so they can only unlock certain civics if that's possible.

Also, I can't wait to go to war with Rammy as the Hittites.
 
Yeah the plan for the Terraforming would be as a much later tech. Probably one of the last few you can research. I will also make it a lot more difficult to build a space ship by increasing the hammers needed, making the techs needed later and more expensive, and maybe even requiring certain futuristic buildings to create certain parts.

The tree planting can come kinda early. It'd make sense to have it with whatever tech allows environmentalism as a civic.
 
Yeah, that's true. The hill thing and the actual terraforming itself will come later.

By the way, I don't know if you guys have been following this or not but a bunch of us LH makers have been working on a "perfect/definitive" Hitler. So far this is our progress, we only have a couple things left to modify on it, but I'm pretty proud of it so check it out!

Hi. I was just curious did you make your own dll for this mod? Are you using RevDCM?

No I did not. The original was basically a collection of modules that I liked to play with (Varietas Delectat, JARM, SuperSpies, Inquisition) I think one of those had its own dll that I used. In the next edition I am going to do everything from scratch, so hopefully it will run more smoothly. I would really like help doing this if you can offer your expertise, I am not much of a coder so it will take me a long time to learn how to do everything.
 
Well for code wise you are wanting only Super Spies and the Inquisition right?

JARM and Varietas Delectat should be easy with any code.
 
Well, I am not going to add the exact mods. By "from scratch" I meant I am going to do all of the XML and everything myself rather than import the modular versions of those mods. For example; I am going to add more religions than JARM has, so that is going to require a new gamefonts.tga, some new units, buildings, etc.

Originally what I envisioned was that, when you discover a religion you get a pop-down window where you can choose a religion. For example; if you discovered monotheism you would get options like Judaism, Christianity, Zoroastrianism, Mithrism or whatever. So this way you don't have to select choose religion in the main menu, but you still get options.

I also wanted to add that terraforming mod avain made, but handle it differently. I want it so you can plant a forest with environmentalism, but you would need a later (futuristic tech) to actually do terraforming itself. I was going to add Next War and slightly expand the future era as well. So there are a lot of things I want to do, although none of them really game-breaking as far as mechanics and balance go. I would rather keep combat the way it is, leave out revolutions but possibly add that mod where barbarians could eventually become civs if they remain unmolested for a long time. But at this point we are still in the idea stage for the next version of this mod.

Too bad there isn't a coding for the civ's religion. That quote would be funnier with each religion.

...God that's such an odd phrase to say.

That's pretty realistic looking. It's bugged me how most of the Hitler LHs have him as fairly normal looking, and not the weird Walter-Mathau-and-Moe-Howards-love-child that he really was.
