[BtS] DIPLOMACY: a mod for Diplogames!

I don't like that LH, so I am not going to use it.

And yes, Selassie was certainly a WWII-era leader. I believe he spoke before the UN against Italian (and I guess any type of) imperialism.

Haile Selassie ruled Ethiopia between 1930 and 1974. He made a famous speech in the League of Nations against Italian fascism, warning Europe "it is us today, it is you tomorrow".

The German medieval set is nearly finished and its going to kick some (French) ass once its finished, well, that is if the person playing as Germany is any good at Civ I guess.

Since Bakuel is probably going to be relatively inactive for a while I doubt he is going to finish up those Spaniards in time, so my next move is going to be - brace yourself - to attempt to make the set Bakuel was going to make for Spain!!!

Do I have what it takes? Probably not. But any images for either ancient Spain (I'm thinking ancient Iberian and Celtiberian units) or medieval Spain (probably focus on Castille, Aragon and Leon, although I might have to go a bit Visigothic if I can't come up with the latter kingdoms) would be extremely helpful to me. I have already put in a request for a knight in the unit requests thread, so if anyone could be of help let me know.

I think this one is important because Spanish history is insanely interesting and is also extremely ancient. So I figure I can do better than just using danrell's units, which are great and all, but they just don't capture Spain the way I want to. Anyway, yeah, ayudame!

I came up with this for the Spanish Swordsman. You couldn't really see it well in NifSkope so I went into the game and had it fight some Celts. I think it looks pretty decent, I'm probably going to give the cape a more gold/yellow look so it fits with the Spanish colorscheme. I think with a few tweaks here and there it could look pretty awesome, and this certainly gives me a little more confidence as far as making these Spanish units goes. What do you guys think?

This is looking really good. I assume that all the new leaders have their own character? For example like Shaka is a warmonger and Toku is isolationist and Mansa is a techwhore?

Anyways I've been trying to download this mod for 2 days now and everytime I get an error on the download page saying the download isn't available :/

They do. I've gone through most of the new leaders and given them a unique personality based on how they ruled and what went on during their rule.

Cool! If only the download link would work I could have hours and hours of fun!:)

Yea, Capo has to reup everything, won't be for a bit.

Oh noes! The horror! :((

Hehe, thanks for making work of it. I'm really looking forward playing it. Being surprised by civs attitude and not being able to predict how they will (re)act. Ofcourse leaders like Hitler will probably be kinda predictable, but still curious to see how well or worse he will do etc.
Gonna a nice huge map with 18 civs :D

I still have the stuff, I'll upload it when I get some time. My job is extremely time consuming so I don't have that much time to upload the mod and everything (all of the files will take a little over four hours to upload, which kinda sucks). And if you want to play on a huge map with 18 civs I hope you have an awesome computer.

I'll announce when the old mod and modules are re-uploaded. I'm sorry so much time has gone by but I will again repeat this; IT IS NOT 3.19 compatible. So if you have already upgraded to 3.19 you will not be able to play the old mod. The new mod, of course, is going to be 3.19 compatible.

Anyway, I made an Iberian spearman. I also made the cape of the swordsman a little brighter so it doesn't blend in with the rest of the attire. I might change the helmet on swordsman, I haven't decided yet. Anyway these are very closely based on the units Bakuel was going to make for Spain...

Well I "finished" the Spanish ancient set. I haven't looked at all of them in-game quite yet, but I'm pretty sure its done. I'll put up a preview after I check it out.

I haven't decided on anything yet for the medieval era, but I can probably throw that together pretty quickly. I know I said I'd have the German preview done next, but this Spanish set is looking cool so I am going to finish this first, I did have a thought though...

In the regular version of the mod Spain will have Isabella, Philip, Franco and Charles V as its leaders. In the deluxe edition Charles V will be a leader for both Spain and Austria but would it be more appropriate to call him Carlos I in the regular version and Charles V in the deluxe edition or is it fine to call him Charles V in the regular version? I know it isn't important but what do you guys think?

What do you say about the new Spanish knight unit. Looks really good and really "Spanish"! Now, when it comes to Spanish LHs, I limit every civ to three LHs, so my Spanish line-up is El Cid, Isabella and Phillip II. I use Colonization's Spanish King as Phillip. Charles V is a second leader of Holy Rome in my game. I don't really like the idea of the same leader leading two civs, actually, so my suggestion is decide on just one civ for Charles and call him Carlos I or Charles V depending on your choice.
By the way, you didn't answer my question: who will be the Celtic leaders in you mod?

Just call him Charles V. Even in Spain they call him Charles V, because he's better known in the rest of Europe that way.

In fact, Philip II is Portugal's Philip I, but most people call him Philip II.

Cape: Here is your roman Centurion. Had a lot of clipping issues with the cape, but it should all work now. I optimized everything so instead of taking up 3mb it only takes up half of that. Did a slight reskin on the legionary (mostly just his shield), and added transverse crest on centurion. He will now do 2 different fortifys when the other two are building stuff.

Just follow zenspiders original instructions for installing the Legionary(act as ranged, pillum in effects infos, etc). But for the Centurion, instead do not make him ranged. Keep the units in thier seperate folders as the kf's are slightly different.

By the way, you didn't answer my question: who will be the Celtic leaders in you mod?

Brennus and Boudica obviously, and I plan on finishing my Cartimandua LH when I get to that stage in the mod's development. I also patiently await your Vercingetorix. Methyl's is good, but he looks too much like Asterix from that French cartoon.

I'm skipping ahead a bit to the Roman set since that is my favorite civ to play as and since achilleszero finished that Centurion for me.

I had a question of preference for you guys though. I have attached an image of two Roman Anti-Tank Infantries. The one on the left was made by Zerver but I replaced his skin with Bakuel's skin. The one on the right is a more modern looking Roman soldier. The left texture is going to be used for the Machinegunner and Infantry, the one on the right is for the Paratrooper, Marine, and SAM Infantry.

I was wondering which I should use for the Anti-Tank. I have, for the most part, used an older skin for other Anti-Tank infantries (so they match with the machine gun and infantry) but I'm not sure which I should use for Rome. What do you think?
