[BtS] "Extra"

@rightfuture & Kalimakhus:
Thanks for your compliments ^^.

@DAKH:
In my version, Electricity doesn't do anything regarding my farms :S.
As for the Free Religion thing.. fixed it :). I'll put a minor patch online with this and some text bug fixed.

:mischief:curious when is the next update

Unless people report bugs, there won't be a next update for a while :). The mod's fine as it is.

Although... I'd really like to add a custom main menu background and music file. That'll most likely be the next update (so nothing big).

Chiyu any chance of you tackling a side project of merging the Modern Era VD expansion with what you have here with the Extra mod? Could call the combination Extra Plus! Or something. I think it would be cool. You've pretty much taken everything from firaxis at this point. Merging in VD Modern in a spinoff mod would be fantastic.

@Sword Of Geddon:
At the moment I have no plans of merging Extra with other mods (right now I'm occupied with other, non-Civ related projects), but I wouldn't mind if others did :).

@ERLoft:
Yeah we have some problems with our host.. I hope it will be back within a week. The patch is not necessarily required though, so don't worry.

I have a new 32bit vista system with 4gig ram and am I fighting my way around the MAF as well, after research, nothing seems to work. Looks like it may be the Varietas Delectat graphic pack in Modern Age that slows me down. Before that no MAF problems. Is this possible?

I certainly think so, given that MAF tends to be reported with Mods anyways. It doesn't get me on the smaller maps, but especially when I'm using a custom Giant Map mod in conjuction with Extra, I come up on the MAF wall anywhere between the Medieval Era and the Modern Era.

The interesting thing is that I didn't get the MAF so much in earlier versions of Extra. Some of these versions actually had more units and buildings, but they either didn't have VD, or a lower version of it. Since VD is not official content anyways, I'd like to see a version of Extra without it, and see how my game plays.

Either that, or intstructions on how to remove it from my copy of the mod. Simply deleting the pak file doesn't work, or at least not in the middle of a game it doesn't!

@Woerkilt:
Try to remove CIV4UnitArtStyleTypeInfos.xml in C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Extra\Assets\XML\Civilizations and see if it helps :).

As Montgomery Burns would say: "Ehck-cellent!" I am downloading version j now.

Oh and after removing CIV4UnitArtStyleTypeInfos.xml from the Extra mod, don't forget to replace it with the original CIV4UnitArtStyleTypeInfos.xml from the normal Beyond the Sword Assets\XML\Civilizations\ folder, otherwise you will have no flavour at all :).

Well i finially figured out how to use this mod (Im totally new to using mods :) )

Very impressed with what this has to offer. Good Job, espcially since i love to play the later content in Civ Games :D

2 Bugs i think ive found are :

1. No upkeep cost for Civics.
2. Playing as Churchill England my workers change between two skins. When i have them selected they have ginger hair and blue pants. When not selected they are indian workers with turbans.

This isn't the only mod that happens with - but congrats on figuring out how to use Extra mod!;)

@Chiyu
I believe this happens with some custom units such as are in Varietas Delectat when the "Animations Frozen" option is selected in Civ4's Graphic Options.

first time that I have had a problem or weird thing happen durig a game I got rifling started cranking out rifleman then as soon as sam infantry came along they stopped and I could not make rifleman any more the best unit to build was SAM infantry could it have been the tech path that I took . I did get rocketry before I could buildregular infantry so I figure it had to be the tech path game played fine still playing just curious and wanted to know whatt happend

Downloaded the newest version, been awhile since played the extra mod and love it.

Was playing King David of Judea and most of my units kept switching between two different skins. My axemen looked like swordsmen at one point and my infantry would change from normal look to green clothing.

I know your not intending to make any changes soon due to other projects. But if you ever decide to add more into the mod later down the road, I thought some type of mesoamerican religion would work well given with the discovery of the calender. Also the late game area could use a few wonders. Maybe something that prevents the builder from suffering global warming or slowly turns desert into plains if possible.
