Only one question: At my place some religions found by the AI in the first round. Is this intended?

Yes, this is intended.
The americans start with Christianity, Israel with Judaism, the OPEC with Islam, India with Hindusim and Japan with Shintoism.

It would not be logical, that the religions are "found" later, or by not fitting civilizations, if there's already a civ present, which will likely transport colonists with that religion to the planet.
It's now a part of the "Unique Powers" for each civilization.
May be not balanced, but i hope, that i can improve that system more :).

but....

you have nothing to worry bout,
1. its easy.
2. im always here and i can always update it for you.
3. you can use some sdk mod components as a basis, so youll never have to update.

whatever you decide, im here for ya.

actually yes. if you try to speed to calander where you can absorb the sand storms and radiation and neglect warriors for construction ships (doesnt matter the radiation and storms are MUCH better defense than what you would normally build.) after that every thing is good except for the fact now that you got rid of your defence you have got to make a new one which would make you lose a few wonders. prince standard
 
great mod, i play it o instead of rom it's much better.

However there are still lots of times where the earth is mentioned instead of mars :)

if you are still on the project i'd like more quests and different events and you need more bilding which give a better chance of terraforming because i played (yeah nooblike i know :) ) on quick and i only had about a dozen titles of terraformed water (exept in my main city where i build the terraformer..

Jaraxle has alreday changed the events to fit on mars, but i didn't have the time to translate it in german, and so they are not included at the moment :(. I hope to fix that, but's a bit work.

Terraforming: Already noted on my to do list.
The last changes to get more control of it, turned the terraforming really down. It had been enough before, but now...maybe the double rate would be okay.

I've already thought about it, but i had some problems with the worker AI (it's very picky and, i'm sure you know it, is sometimes very stupid).

Progressbar :think:...i guess, my terraforming concept is at the moment not good enough for something like that :D, but sure, it needs some optical representation.

Yes, but this one here is developed in german, so normally the german text is better than the english one ;).
 
yeah i know i am a pain in the ass :)

1. idea, a water planet would be great, plus i didn't think about it that long but a progress bar would be great because i had in my last game in one round in abut 8 cities the good progress in terraforming but it didn't transform anything.
2. idea, more city improvements, maybe take some of the late ages in rom.
3. In my point of view it would help to be able to build the advanced transportation systems on water too.
4. on top of that maybe you could talk to Antilogic and get him to make a couple of new events for your mod, he is good at it.
5. more atillery units, there are only 2 of them and they are weak.
6. Even tough advanced hovertanks are supposed to do coleteral damage they don't.
7. maybe give the plasma infantery 25 :strength: otherwise they are next to useless.
8. maybe diplay the progressbar of a great general, like in rom, besides the progressbar for the next tech.

Uh, really :confused:?
As long as there are not massive units around the cities, this should not happen.
Maybe a fault in my terraforming code.

I've never looked at RoM, thanks for the hint, i'll download it, when i have access to civ again.

But the 3 advanced need phosphorus.

That's a feature from the BUG mod, and i'm not sure, if i can ripp it off, or even if i want to do it.
For my feeling, the normal civ interface is fine, and i should not confuse the players in a completly different mod also with a completly different interface.

ive downloaded the mod and when i try to autorun after the download the mod just does not load. what do i need to do? i would really like to try this mod it looks wicked but i can not figure out how to get it to work. Help?

Dont know if its possible but it would be nice if you can load different planets instead of Mars only.
So maybe a option to set a texture set before loading the map is a nice idea.
So you can have a Mars look or a Moon one, Venus or Jupiter.

Your installation files have some faults in it.

Version patch requires Mars, Now v03 - Mars, Jetzt v03 - "XYZ" to have been previously installed to work correctly.
"XYZ" = Name of current installation.

  • You dont need current intallation to be installed, you need "Mars, Now v03 - Mars, Jetzt v03" to be installed.
    The text now, for example, tells to have the "Mars, Now v03 - Mars, Jetzt v03 - Patch L.exe" installed before you install "Mars, Now v03 - Mars, Jetzt v03 - Patch L.exe". Thats weird because its the same thing :crazyeye:
    Also "Version patch requires...", needs to be "This patch requires...".
    And i would change "to have been previously installed to work correctly" into "or a newer version to be installed on your pc to work correctly".

Here's my corrected text wich can be used for both installs ("patch L" & "Soundpack");
This patch requires "Mars, Now v03 - Mars, Jetzt v03" or a newer version to be installed on your pc to work correctly.

I didn't use the installer for mod, only for the patch and sound pack. So maybe the text in the mod-installer also needs to be corrected.
 
First of all, i love the mod. Its different, fast and eh...did i mention different?
But there are a few things that can be improved to make this a real pro looking mod (wich it already is):D.

I don't like the way the level suddenly stops. Normal you would have a snow border that breaks the level at the north and south. But you can only see the border zoomed out.

And Mutants sometimes have the wrong skin or even model. I tried to screenshot the mutant skin also but was a bit too late. So i only have the screen witch shows the mutant as a normal CivIV unit. When this happens it flashes from one to the other.

  1. What i don't get is your choice for the name WLAN. Can you explain why there are things called WLAN Colony? I know WLAN as Wireless Local Area Network. Do you mean the same thing?

A space elevator is more realistic than you might think. NASA engineers have considered the possibility, worked out how it might function or be constructed, and think the best candidate for a material for the cable would be carbon nanotubes.

So yeah, for those of us who keep an ear towards space exploration, it's not such an odd word. ;)

Hmm, i guess, your selected climate is to arid. There normaly should be a small snow border.

That's a known technical problem.
Go to your civ graphics options menu, and activate the animations, that should fix it.

It should be colony WLAN. If it's in the other order, then it's a bug.

You know, the space elevator is already in the normal game ;).
 
@wrobn. i have a nice map, and it has ice on the southern and northern pole and it doesn't have the traits you described (actually, though it has been generated automaticly the map is quite difficult because you have the problem that neither silicon nor titanium are in you grasp. )

You can change the references to "mars" into "the planet colony" or "the system colony" or even simpler "the colony".
Also the title can be "Colony, Now!"
If you manage to change this, you will give more possibility's for playing the game.
Maybe its possible to tell the map script to use a certain texture set instead of a standard one.
In this way if you put it in the script its also possible to have storms on mars and none on the moon.
That would be best if you choose a map and the map automatically selects the right texture set.
Or just like the option "world wrap", a option "theme" can change this.

And indeed enabling animations solves the problem with the skins/models.
