Sooo, we're supposed to wage war on every civ on the planet under the iron boot of the Pope? :mischief:

Mad Man: The city list is name of churchs in Vatican City. In a new version I'll upload in just a few minutes I've added 10 city names from other places and buildings in the Vatican City.

Why I've done like that is because Vatican City is a city state and it's not so unique with only 1 city name on the city list...

Thanks Gurra09 for the clarification and good job. By the way has any one ever thought to make a Civilization of City States like Vatican,Monaco,San Marino,Singapore and so on

great work :goodjob:

however, as a Catholic, I don't know if I can declare war while playing with the Pope.

At least it seems to be the best civ for building the Apostolic Palace. :)
Maybe you can make a "UB" of the AP!?!?! Give it a lower cost or easier for them to build or something?!?!?

First I thought to make AP an UB replacing Palace and rename the wonder Apostolic Palace to St. Peters Basilica but I didn't think it was a very good idea and abandoned it.

I don't mean a building you can mass produce... just a cheaper World Wonder for the Vatican. There should be a way to do that. :dunno:

Wouldn't that make Vatican City a bit too powerful?
To have ONE cheaper Wonder? I doubt it... personally I don't even like the AP Wonder. Never build it.

If you lose a game because someone else built the AP, then maybe Civ4 is not for you.

I just think Vatican Civ + AP seems meant for each other. Your mod, do what you want... but frankly I would never consider somebody else getting a bee-line on the AP as a game breaker. In fact, I'd almost be insulted if some other civ besides the Vatican built the AP! :p

Come to think about it... maybe every civ should get a cheaper version of one Wonder... like China the Wall... Egypt the Pyramids... etc, etc... dunno... just pondering... I don't even know if it's doable... but it's an interesting concept.

Eh eh, so I'm not the only one who's created a Pontifical State civ!! :)
May I give you some suggestions about how I did it?

Unique unit: almost the same idea of mine, but the city defense bonus is enough, I'd remove the hill defense, or it risks to be overpowered.

Unique building: I've chosen the Vatican Bank (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vatican_Bank), which replaces the Bank and gives a free Merchant in the city.

Leaders: this is quite subjective, but I've chosen FOUR popes!!! They all seem important to me.
Leo I the Great: the pope who stopped the invasion of Attila. Protective!
Gregory I the Great: who invented the "Gregorian chant". Creative!
Pius II: who promoted the Crusade in the 1459. Imperialist!
Julius II: patron of Bramante, Raphael and Michelangelo. Industrious!

You're right about the UU, but I'll lower the City Defense to +25% Defense instead of removing hills defense.

The nation of Vatican City was formed in 1929 after the Lateran Treaty, because of that I'll not have any popes from before that year as a leader.

Before 1929 it was the Papal States (until 1870) and then a part of Italy (1870 - 1929).
