[BtS] Rise of Mankind 2

Tiny. Maybe 3-4 Starting Civs, if you are playing with Revolutions and Barbarian Civ. 5-6 if not.

Heh. Even on tiny maps, starting with 3 civs, by the modern age I'm waiting 1-2 minutes between turns. Ah well, good time to get some reading done. ;)

Something I got used to doing from Civilization I when I had it. I can remember the turn waits sometimes could get up to 4 minutes. Another problem was no autosave so if you had a problem with your game you lost that progress. A good thing about Civilization IV.

Exactly! I love when the game gets to that point because I can get some stuff done between the turns. :D

My game is crashing regulary, especially when cities are being founded or i load game. Fix please.
Okay, game fixed. Please try again.

But, really: How about some system stats and more details of your issue?
OS (Operating System):
CPU (Processor):
RAM (Memory):
GPU (Graphics):
What turn/age does problems start?:
Any other information that might help- I was doing so and so: You got this one with founding cities.

ProTip: When the game starts reaching your system's memory limit, loading games can cause a crash. It is safer to close the game, start the game, and then load the save.

About Warlord bug of getting Warlord instead of Great General:

Vincentz, the original maker, knows about this and he still have no idea how to solve that. Maybe it is time for other modmodders and Zappara to attack this bug and help Vincentz since it is finally merged into official RoM.

I love the new 2.8 of ROM... but you know what would be great?

I would love it if someone could put together a small civilization expansion pack together for RoM 2.8. Maybe something like only the BEST of the BEST Dozen civilizations and a Dozen New Leaders for the Existing Civs... also the New Alexander too.

Please put together a team to make this dream a reality.

Can someone tell me how to change the slavery option, I'm fed up with it giving so much instability and unhappiness, I mean it even makes your cities sick! Thanks in advace.

Also the quote with slavery should change, to something pro slavery

I have a game play question:

Has the ability to build two forts side by side and then move ships from one to the other been removed?

Or does it require some specific tech?

I tried to look for the info but couldn't find any.

Thanks in advance.

Like my Mega Civ pack? I'm currently updating (and expanding it a bit) to RoM 2.8 settings/changes. The version made for RoM 2.71 does work with RoM 2.8 but some settings are incorrect since I've updated some units etc. in RoM 2.8. There's also Unofficial Leaderpack that works with RoM 2.8 which adds 28 new leaders.

'..\Rise of Mankind\Assets\XML\GameInfo\' -folder and there's CivicInfos.xml files that you can edit in notepad.

Forts work in RoM just like in regular BtS ie. the forts works as canals for ships. Since this is standard feature in BtS, I haven't had reason to change it.

OK its done, but I have some questions for balancing issues, by the way if anybody wants I have the file modified attacked here, this is what it adds:

Slavery Civic:
High Upkeep
+2 Happiness
10% commerce in all your cities
-5% Culture

Just replace your old CIV4CivicInfos.xml file with this one. You can find this file in your:
..\Rise of Mankind\Assets\XML\GameInfo\... folder.

Three questions to zappara (or any high authority on modding skills, which I lack):

1. How do I change the Abraham Linoln quote to something else, where is that file?

2. How do I change it so that it causes a bit more instability nation wide?

3. Coupled with the changes I will make to the stability is this balanced enough, or have I made Slavery too good of a civic?

Something that strikes me as very, very unbalanced is the artesian well. I only have one source of rice among my 16 cities and one well will usually give something from 8 - 12 food (totals to 20 - 25 % more food income). Way too powerful when compared to bakery or fishermans hut.

Control - A, inside of the city management screen.

Cant seem to raze a wonder (circus maximus) though.

BTW, can you alter the world map ? I want to turn desert tiles into grassland without having to research,

Im using complete as well, tom. So yes, it does.
However, im not sure if this is better or History in the Making is. This has more techs so i went with this.

Maybe in Rise of Mankind/Assets/XML/Text folder. But look in XML/Civilizations and find the file LeaderheadInfo.xml, and look up Lincoln. Read the entry. Then head over to that Text folder I mentioned and find that string that have to do with Slavery. No promises so do it at your risk.

2. How do I change it so that it causes a bit more instability nation wide?

You found the Slavery civic in that file you attached? Well, at the bottom of that entry is Revolution section. Check it out and modify it to your heart's contentment.

3. Coupled with the changes I will make to the stability is this balanced enough, or have I made Slavery too good of a civic?

I'm curious as well.

BTW, since you are modmodding, you should go to Rise of Mankind's forum, and go to RoM Modmods subforum there :). Get involved with a bunch of other cool modmodders :D.
