thanks for the info! I can't believe it hasn't been released in NYC yet. We seem to get everything first!

O, woodsman 3 doesnt grant 2 first strikes, as other ppl had mentioned, but grants an additional 15% healing only on same tile. Now a medic 3 and woodsman 3 explorer = 40% healing!

I'm not sure those stack anymore than having two medic 3 units on the same tile...

No, Australia got it first to double their :culture: output

Sorry Watiggi and all, my second dig at Aussies in as many hours......

made an edit on post #18 showing the choose religion option in the custom game menu.

from another post, I read that phalanx gets the march promotion and has 100% def bonus against chariot. I agree that phalanx is too powerful, in addition alexander is aggressive, so free combat 1!

No, a medic 3 explorer can also gain the woodsman 3 promotion.

Phalanx now replaces the Axemen?! That is wrong in so many ways...

How are you going to beat the Phalanx now? Axemen will have trouble with a massive Greek pillaging stack, and you can't use chariots to soften them up. Only one unit can halt them now...

I guess, you'll use same tactics as in vanilla Civ4 against the axemen. :D

I guess it'll be up to Rome to liberate the Western world from the tyranny of the Greeks. :D

Shoot, you're right, I didn't notice the +100% vs chariots on first read. I suppose this will basically negate the chariots 100% vs axes, making a flat ground fight Chariot 4 vs Phalanx 5 (disregarding promotions)

Hmm the manual says Woodsman III is two first strikes, but civilopedia says +15% healing... must have been a late change.

what if you capture an enemy's fort, can you use them in enemy's territory?

Well you wont get the City Defence bonus, if that's what you mean (it says so in the rule screenshot). I have a hard time imagining you'd get trade route connections too..

But maybe you can still use them as airfields?

(Would be perfect for late game razing sprees with bombers + tanks )

Explorer can't get Woodsman III. Recon units can get I and II, but not III. So you can't get a fast-moving Medic III, Woodsman III explorer. You could make a Medic III/Woodsman III Melee/Gunpowder unit though. You'd probably do it by promoting the unit through the Woodsman line, maybe you could do this with a surviving exploring warrior, upgrade to sword, then once it has decent XP attatch a Warlord to it to get it to medic III, then never put it near combat ever again!

Hooray! This means we can build canals! :)

And the ability to build forts in neutral territory makes them useful.
Very good, indeed.

Thank you for posting the info screen!!

Watiggi- Thanks for the all the info... Anything on the Favorite Religion supposed implication?
Did I actually answer this properly? I just read it and saw it from a different perspective. Were you asking about the choose religion option or something else?

How to counter a phalanx, you do it with an axeman. Just like vanilla civ4 used to be. Sure it's strong, but it's a UU. They should be strong.
Speaking of which, the Celt UU & UB are looking quite nice with the +50% withdrawl chance for Guerrilla III. Dang. That should be fun.

(You answered both of my questions right as I posted them.... that's nice. :-) )
