[BTS] The History of Three Kingdoms

@stmartin

It would be quite weird if it works for some and not for others :confused: Anyway, I attached a save.

One more thing as the Emperor benefactor I am supposed to choose an edict proposal to be voted over. If I choose none from the list one of the other proposals still gets presented for vote. Sometimes I am happy with everybody fighting and I am not welling to assign a city of X to Y (unless if I am Y of course).

BTW. I guess the DLL attached to your previous post should be considered patch C?? I think you're better off uploading a full download say v2.01 consolidating all the fixes so far. It would be a better choice for new comers, while those who downloaded the original release can still get the patches for smaller download.

remarkable improvements. this is really one of the top mods out there :thumbsup:

theres still a few TXT_KEYS missing and other small stuff, but I see it is a really great mod.

edit: also I have some slight confusion if I need patch A, B, or C....

say I just downloaded the mod right now, do I need to install the patches, or are they included in the new file?

it appears I would need to download only patch B and C, but I'm not completely sure.

edit again: I went ahead and did B and C, it appears to be working....

kinda funny though, the dll says it was written today at 9:24 pm, its only 8:02.... I suppose the difference between east and west :)

I'm almost done with pacifying the north, but Gongsun Du I can't declare war upon. (Is it because he had a peace treaty with Gongsun Zan who's my vassal? But in any case that treaty should have long expired.)
Also, some units are becoming invisible, i.e. you can't select them until other military units are out of that square. This has happened with workers and champions.

The reason for why you cannot declare war on Gongsun Du is that his civilization trait forbids you to declare war on him. I won't tell you his trait in this thread;) When you come back to the game and check his trait, you'll find his trait interesting and can be very useful at some times:goodjob:.

Dont know if anyone else had this problem, but; after D/l-ing , the install didnt work, just kept getting errors that files couldnt be created. Really bites too, ive hoped that someone would do a "true to history" mod of the ROTK series, been a fan since the Nintendo version. oh well, guess ill just check back later. A fix/ solution would be great. And thanks for what im sure is gonna be one of Civ4s best mods!

Actually, you need to hire them - which means you need enough cash.;)

@stmartin: The Patch Readme now says to delete the Text folder, but doesn't mention it's in Assets/XML... And I agree with Kalimakhus.

@Shiggs713: You usually need the latest patch.

Gongsun Du's trait makes it impossible to win conquest (which I'm close to doing). I just realized that you can't build settlers in the huge map, which makes domination impossible if you didn't conquer every single last city.:mad:

Hello,

I have performance issues with the new version. Despite that I play on the smallest map and with lowest graphical configuration I have now the problem that scrolling over the screen is always kind of lagging.

Anyone else had a similiar experience ?

Played 85 turns on the biggest map with no problems. (I picked Yuan Shao; by turn 85 Cao Cao took 1 city, but none from Bai Bo. I took 5 cities from Gongsun Zan myself, then made peace, as the remaining 3 were all size 1. In the meantime I'd made peace already with Kong Rong, then walked my army to Bai Bo, but turned back as I'd spent all my Catapults on the 1st city I conquered. In addition I acquired 2 heroes and formed several legions.)

BTW, :thumbsup: on the new maps!

Some pics I took (Emperor's Refugee should read Emperors' Refuge):

Hey guys, the Cumulative patch C is out. It's save game compatible, but for the hero's free promotions to take effect in the game you need to start a new game.

fixes:
1. a minor fix in 51_51 map(actually we misplaced a Liu Bei Danyang Army as Lu Bu's)
2. fixed heroic promotion's CTD
3. fixed porcelain workshop's within city radius china clay prerequisite
4. fixed a bug when regrouping legion and unchecking a previous core troop, other UnitCombat Type will be enabled
5. fixed a bug that champions who can join a legion as member will not show on the form legion screen

adjustment:
1. minor adjustment to the unit cost for AI under different speed to make them build more troop to counter Human player's legion onslaught...
2. distribute different promotions to different heroes as free promotion
3. unit that has moved cannot join or quit legion
4. core troop cannot regroup legion if has moved
5. a member that has moved cannot be kicked out of legion when regrouping
6. core troop cannot dismiss legion if even one of the legion member has moved
7. replaced 5 buttons for legion actions(form, etc.) with new art
8. Now you can declare war on GongSun Du even if you are not adjacent to him, provided that you two are the only surviving non-vassal teams in the game

And I'm right now making a exe installer and am going to republish the core release.:)

@Kalimakhus

I took a look at the code about Porcelain workshop and found no clue why it would be some city ok and some not...However, I rewrote that code, and put some more strict conditions: now the maximum culture border is 2 instead of the actual cultural level which could be far bigger than 2; also you need to improve that bonus to build it. It now works.

As to the voting stuff, I forgot whether we could choose not to propose any election as a pope or UN secretary. If we could in original BTS, it would be so much easier.

@Shiggs713

Yes, all patches are cumulative which contains all previous patches. But soon that won't cause trouble anymore because we are going to use installers.:lol:

@devil_dan418

Try download the new 2.01 release and install again. This time it should be easier because it's an exe direct install.

@Danthor

The reason in your save why you can't recruit any heroes is that they are already recruited by other players...You can saw their faction in the second column. Notice that some icons are question marks. That could be somewhat misleading but it's actual meaning is the hero is recruited by a player that you are yet to meet. If a hero is available for recruitment, his second column info would be 'available' instead of any button, and under the 'gold required' column the sum of gold you need will be displayed.

About the crash, unfortunately, your save is a bit late, the error has happened before that. I recommend you start a new game because the new release is pretty stable, or at least I think so.

@AnotherPacifist

Wow! We certainly didn't consider Gongsun Du's trait could cause you so much trouble:D. But he would no more, check out the patch C adjustment.

@JEELEN

Danyang Armies can move through all terrain. It's a vanilla BTS xml data option, but the vanilla BTS didn't include any help text for that(if I remember right), and we forgot to do that too.:) And the emperor's refuge typo is fixed in the new 2.01 release.

AP, I guess you can keep asking for tribute until your opponent is forced to declare.

Now this is called real customer service, coming out with 3 patches in 2 days.:goodjob:

In patch B it wasn't possible to demand tribute. (He's already furious with me)

But patch C makes him my last target after Sun Ce. :lol:

Ok, I uploaded a release 2.01 exe installer that incorporated all up-to-date changes.

However, anyone who is fighting a great war in the game should still use patch C instead, because using the installer will break all your previous Saves.

@stmartin

Thanks a lot for your speedy response to our reports :goodjob:

About voting, Yes in vanilla BTS you can choose not to present an edict for voting by choosing the none button in the end of the list.

BTW would you check this: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=310415 and see if you'd like to include the code for it. I think it would be helpful especially for those who seek to build the ultimate legions ever. One piece of info that is so interesting is the one telling how many xp points you may get if you win the battle. Another info that is not in this component but would be of interest is how many GG points you get. GGs are quite a valuable asset now. (thanks for the related adjustment in patch C. It was annoying that I had to get out of the legion formation interface to join units with GG attached).

@AP

Are you sure domination is impossible? This is a dire news. I mean after a specific stage the only challenge on the map is the map itself. I was going to let some leaders alone only because they are too remote. Now I have to go back to the north for Ma Tang. I was preparing to conquer the south which is a big task in itself. It is a maze of rivers and mountains. In my game Liau Biao is a more formidable foe than Sun Ce. I antagonized him by befriending Sun Ce.

Also the great generals should be "champion" instead of "champions" I do believe. Its also kind of strange that the GG use the same text as the legions, if I recall they are both vaguely named "champions", so the first time I popped a GG, I thought I had popped a legion, but unfortunately he wasn't as cool as Guan Yu, or Zheng Fe...

either way, both the text are in plural form, when it should be singular.

I have an idea for a future release if you would consider it;

Use some of the DCM (dales combat mod) features.... not all, just a few, like archer barrage, battlefield effects, and active defense. Adding those 3 features in my opinion would greatly enhance gameplay and the feel of the mod. Don't get me wrong, this is a fantastic mod, just trying to offer suggestions to improve it even further. :)

I'm having a fabulous game right now as Liu Bei ;)
