[BTS Total Mod] Thomas' War

Hi Thomas,

Thanks again for this amazing MOD, it s just so real !! I love your works (like ozymandias).

Now the only thing is that I see in the civilopedia a few new religions (caanism/vodou /etc...) that can be found through 2 tech which are Faith and Shamanism. But when I play the game and Check the tech tree I DON T SEE THEM...No Idea how to research those 2 techs! !!!!!

ANYBODY KNOWS WHY OR HOW TO FIND THEM ?

PS : If you answer me I ll teach you how to fish (it will feed you for a lifetime;) )

Those two techs has been closed because:
1) They are for future use or;
2) They are used to store the extra religions.

You can tap into the XML and enable those techs, and intrograting those relgions into the game (like I did).

I'm sure, it's the second.

Can someone please explain to me where EXACTLY do i put the file once i downloaded it. When i did, I went to BTS, Advanced, Load a mod, and the mod wasn't there? What do i do? and can someone explain to me as simple as possible where to put it and what to do if i get error messages. I don't like mods that don't work especially ones that look cool like this one.

The file you download is a 7zip file. 7zip is something like WinZip, a compressed format, which is used to save space, but the file can so not be used.
You have to download 7zip, install it, and then you can extract the mod and play it, after you've plugged it into the mods folder.

Has a solution to the problem of having no interface upon game start been found? I downloaded the mod and I made 100% sure to put the files in the correct place with the correct name, but there is no in-game interface and no Civilopedia. I am using Civ IV Complete on Windows Vista SP2.

I turned off the Python exceptions in the .ini and it comes up with about 20-40 of the little error windows (Not at once, one appearing after closing one), the final ones saying that an XML file is not found, apparently after saying it does not find the associated functions or whatever.

Thanks dude but I have no idea how to do that ... I don t know which lines to edit and What to edit... Anybody can help out ???

Hi.
I'm sorry if I'm repeating an already posted question, but I find it a bit difficoult to know.

I've a very annoyng problem with this marvellous mod.
After a certain number of turns, after ending the turn, the game locks. It remains "thinking", with the world's icon rolling, and the "end turn" never happens.
Even reloading the game, when reaching the same turn, it won't pass the turn.
(I also tried waiting half an hour, with no results)

I noticed that a device to overcome this problem is changing something important in the game. For example, last time, I declared war just before the "locking" turn, and I manage to go to the next turn.
But... this won't work everytime, or is not always possible, and is very annoying...

So... there is a way to force the next turn? It is possible to have an escape cheat code to stopping the AI thinking and begin the next turn?
I'm not able to end a game. Not one at all.

I usually play in multiplayer, 2 human people allied, and 4 pairs of AI allied, for a total of 10 players, over LAN.
I usually can play untill Scientific Method or so.
It's been ten games or more, that I cannot reach the the future era! :(

Maybe the author of this mod (the best I've ever played) could add a button in the interface, to press to force the game to go to the next turn??
Thanks in advice.

I'm getting an error that says "GFC Error: Failed to initialize the primary control theme", and it crashes. What is going on?

I get a similar error. I just unzipped the file I downloaded here into my Mods folder, naively not expecting to do anything else.

is this BTS 3.19 compatible?

is this BTS 3.19 compatible?

I thought he built it off the 3.17 Dresden patch, which means it should be 3.19 compatible. At least, that was my working assumption until now.

Does that matter if he has his own SDK and thus core game *.dll files, so long as there are no new tags in the XML or anything like that?

Several mods I've been wanting to try run into this problem. It's pretty frustrating.

Thomas war doesn't have a custom gamecore, so it works for 3.13, 3.17, and 3.19.

The GFC error is always related to the interface, exactly that the interface can't be found, because the mod name has to be hardcoded in there.
Possible errors:
- You've renamed the folder (i guess, it should be "Thomas War 3.5" at the moment)
- You've placed the mod in custom assets, and not in C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\etc

Check both, one is the reason for it.

tsentom1 thoughtfully supplied an entry within the game in: Civilopedia - Thomas' War Concepts - Troubleshooting about GFC Errors.

1. Delete Folder: Thomas' War\Resource
2. Delete File: Thomas' War\Assets\XML\Art\CIV4ArtDefines_Misc.xml
3. Try again

Of course finding that entry if you have a GFC Error might be a bit of a problem... ;)

I've just finished updating "Thomas' War" to BtS 3.19 and incorporated the "Unofficial Patch 1.20" and "Better BtS AI 0.81m" into it and thought to share.

Now you can use AIAutoPlay and ChangePlayers and the AI got some brand new brains. I've also included the new "Modern Roads" from "BUG 4.1" because I had problems distinguishing the old ones from the railroads. If you don't want them just remove "..\Assets\Art\Terrain\Routes\Modern Roads\mod_roads.dds".

Beware, the new AI is fairly smart now. Playing beyond "Noble" and not knowing exactly what you are doing will probably only bring about your death and destruction.

Please Idk if anyone can shed some light but me and a friend just downloaded this mod but neither of us can see any multiplayer games or either of each otheres MP games. we check our mod folders and we have the exact same thing. does it matter that he has a Direct 2 Drive DL of civ whereas I have a CD version?
