[BTS Total Mod] Thomas' War

Why can't I found Voodooism and the other religions without making a custom game, why can't I learn Training and those other techs, Why can't my workers build bridges, cave paintings, and ancient temples and Why can't I build national banners and storehouses. Why would you bother putting them into the mod if they aren't accsessable.:confused::confused:

All these thing appear in the pedia, because they are used for other things, which you normally don't notice.

For example, you can found the Vodoo religion in your game, if you turn the option "free religion choice" on. The vodoo tech itself is a placeholder, because the religion has to be tied to a technology. -> the technology itself is a fake, like all the other things too, and should not appear in the pedia.

Why can't I play the scenarios? I didn't rename it, so I don't know what's going on.

Awesome Mod :D I've had it for a while haha... one problem though, i can't get the patch to work. The mod works fine but if i merge the patch file with it, thomas' war doesn't load up it just crashes and tells me that an error occurred and therefore kicks me out of the game. I messed around with it for a bit and it will load up when i put everything in but the dll in the assets folder. So my qustion is how do i get the dll to work? do i need to download something else? i am using vista btw

@lucky Canucky: I'm sorry to hear that. 1morey also seems to have had some troubles with Vista. Since I don't use Vista I'm a bit at a loss what to do about it.
Maybe I need to set some compiler-switch differently from XP to Vista?
I've included the source files and CvGameCoreDLL.vcproj for MS Visual C++ 2008 in the download. Perhaps someone can check if I did something problematic for Vista in the options. I've played a whole game with it on XP and saw no problems with the patch.

Do all Vista users have trouble with the patch?

I'd really like to play this mod. Everytime I try the thing crashes. Changing back to static leader heads helped for exactly 5 turns, without any animated movie on screen. Apart from the fact that I've got an I5 Quadcore and 4 gigs of RAM I really don't want to miss on those animated videos or leaderheads.

Any chance I could get this mod working with both of them?

So I tried it again, re-installed, starting a new fast game first just to reset all those options in a custom game and using only those unanimated videos. ... Well, I got until turn 50 (or so), when the game crashed again for no obvious reason.
Fall from Heaven 2 doesn't crush ONCE, so I think it's not my system. What could be the problem? Too big maps (playing on large)? Too many civs (having 15 of them)? I thought of virtual memory and found out I already set it to about 5 gigs. I really don't know what to do as Thomas' War mod seems to be the only one with a decent future era starting right from the stone-age.

I personally prefer to play on Huge maps and the mod loads and plays fine: I'm getting no CTDs with the (unpatched) mod.

I don't know if it's Vista-related, but while the patched mod loads fine, I got a CTD trying to load 1066 AD TW. (I do have Vista installed.)

I've newly installed Civ4,Warlords and BtS and patched with 3.19 on my XP with 2 gigs RAM. Then I installed Thomas' War 3.5a and patched it with X04. The game played fine, however it failed to load Jeelens scenario or indeed any other. Loading the scenario worked with patch X01 but not with X02 or later.
For some strange reason the scenario-players load well, but loading the scenario-map failed - the token 'BeginMap' wasn't found although it's in the file.
I'm still investigating the problem.

Here's is a new patch X05 see also: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?p=8611928#post8611928

Download:
Thomas War 3.5a_Patch_X05.7z

Changelog:
X05
Included Module "MapZoom" (Temudjin: "MapZoom" )
- take a look at the map from way above, without all those clouds)
Included Module "ExoticAnimals" (Roamty: "Modular ExoticAnimals")
- add Cheetah, Hawk and Penguin units
New: Old 18 civ scenarios can now be played (Temudjin: "Making Scenarios Independent of Mod's Maximum Civs")
Fixed 'Giant Map' Help Text
Fixed 'Standard' Handicap for AI to Prince/Warlord
- got that wrong in X04, I thought I was setting player handicap (Thanks fulano)
Updated to "Unofficial Patch 1.40"

Included Module "ExoticAnimals" (Roamty: "Modular ExoticAnimals")
- add Cheetah, Hawk and Penguin units

I'm getting a XML error when loading:

"Tag: INVISIBLE_LAND in Info class was incorrect"

referring to Modules\exoctocanimals\hawk\exoticanimals-0.3_civ4unitinfos.xml

Also, the new animals don't show up properly in-game (Civiliopedia icons are purple squares and on the map they appear as red blobs).

Unrelatedly I'd like to report that apparently I can play Thomas' War 3.17 on BtS 3.19 (original maps only though). :crazyeye:

Sorry Jeelen some of my files got scrambled, when I put them together.
I noticed the error and uploaded the new file, which unfortunately took a bit longer than it should have been, because I couldn't quite convince my PC to communicate properly with the server for uploading. When I began that process I still had zero views on the file, so you must have moved fast.
Now the correct file is linked.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

I worship this mod, I played it all the time when I had a PC but now I change it for a Mac and I know Thomas War can't be played on a mac's bts. Is there any way to get this mod to work in a mac... an Intel one. It's my favorite one so please give some hope !!!

After I discovered there was the bonus Olives resource hidden inside the mod Thomas' War 3.5a, I decided to go in and change a few things in only 5 of the small files in XML, so the Olive Press improvement in CIV4ArtDefines_Improvement.XML(no change) which was previously programmed by the original author can be properly integrated as the Olive Plantation into the game.

Since I have to change CIV4BuildingInfos.XML, I fixed the construction sound by the way for (Hellenic Shrine, Hellenic Monastery and Hellenic Acropolis), they will now sing Hellenic instead of Jewish.

To upgrade, simply extract the main folder "Assets" in the rar below to Thomas' War main directory, the 5 files will replace the previous ones after the folder merging.

Previous mod gameplay saving won't load after bonus olives enabled.
