Bug Reporting

I posted this in the thread NN mentioned above.

Well actually it the PublicMaps that are causing the main problems also, if i put any mod that has bug in it the maps (mapscripts) bleed into just plain BtS and alot of python errors occur, ie PerfectWorld etc. those.:mischief:
This occurs when i put them in the regular mod folder, not the CustomAsset one. But again as soon as i move them out of this folder and into another folder the problems are gone, ie RoM, Next Bug War, etc.

I don't see how this can be the case. You install BUG normally as a mod, and when you play the normal game or any other mod, you get errors about the BUG maps. But if you move those maps into any other mod folder, you no longer get the errors?

I have BUG installed to about five different mod folders, and I only get any map script errors if I load BUG itself.

No biggie:

In the "actual" column it says "+4 :yuck:", instead it should be "-4 :yuck:".

I have seen this too and haven't figured out what's going on. Since they are alerts, I've kinda put it on the back burner while working on some pretty major stuff right now. Rest assured, I'll get back to it soon. :)

Slavery Event? (lose pop and stop the revolt choice)

Naw, I've only gotten the slavery event once or twice myself, and I've seen this happen more than a few times within a couple turns of founding a city. It's definitely some error with how I'm tracking which cities have already been detected for which events I think.

All i am doing is saying what happens to me, i put RoM in my mods folder and i try to play regular BtS and i get python errors about a few of the maps there, i take the mod out completely and place it into a different directory and NO errors?
I place Next Bug War in the mods folder, etc etc etc. take it out no more errors.
That is ALMOST for any Bug mod, NOT all most. I do not have Bug installed and i clean out my CustomAssets everytime i play.
Again this is what happens to me, no offense to anyone.:mischief:
So now i make it a point to have NO other mods in my mod folder except the one i am playing.

There was no offense. I am just making sure I understand the exact steps you're taking. Where are you installing this mods: the BTS EXE's Mods folder or the My Games Mods folder?

Nope, wasn't installing anything, all i did was place those mods in the mod folder, and then i tried to play regular BtS and the MAPSCRIPTS from those mods, not the Bug mod itself, are causing the python errors. ie Perfect World, Full of Resources, Ring World, Big & Small etc.:crazyeye:

But i place a mod that does NOT have Bug in it with those Mapscripts and no errors either.

EDIT: I thought it might have something to do with BtS, so i deleted all Civ4 and RE_installed everything over again, and still then the problems again.

What are the errors you're getting? Can you post your PythonErr.log file?

OK here are some screenshots plus the logs. This is under regular BtS when i put a mod in, in the Play Now area, ok.

I don't understand what you mean by 'when I put a mod in'? What does that entail?

One of the mods i mentioned above, this one i tried this time is Next Bug War as an example.

No, not mod are you playing. Rather, how are you loading the mod? When I play a mod (say, HOF or Next War), I open Civ4, click on Advanced (from the main menu), then click on Load a Mod and select the mod. It then loads up the mod and I start a game.

What do you mean by 'when I put a mod in'? To me, it sounds like you are copying files from one location to another and then playing.

Well, i play a mod just like anyone else, as you mentioned above. :p
But when i play just plain BtS, i dont use Advanced and Load a Mod. I go to Play Now right away.

Well the only way you can get a mod in the mod folder, is to "put it in the mod folder."
And yes i put the mod in from another folder, because of the errors i get, i have very very few mods in my mod folder, i keep them in a different place, until i want to play them.

I keep all my mods in My Documents/My Games1/Downloaded Stuff/Mods
I keep all my maps in My Documents/My Games1/Downloaded Stuff/Maps
I keep all my units in My Documents/My Games1/Downloaded Stuff
I keep all the stuff i made in My Documents/My Games1

No other way to put it:crazyeye:

Another small bug caused by BULL (I think):

Civ4ScreenShot0001-1.jpg

I'm building a temple, but it lists HE as production improving. While it does improve production under certain circumstances, I don't think this should be listed here as it is misleading. I guess the same bug appears with drydocks (?)

I'm building a temple, but it lists HE as production improving. While it does improve production under certain circumstances, I don't think this should be listed here as it is misleading.

It is listed below the divider in the list of buildings that will affect production if built. It doesn't consider what you are currently producing, and I don't think it should. The point is to show you all of your options for increasing production in general--not for the current item. It's less "If you build these other things first, you can speed up what you're currently building." and more "These other build options will affect your production in general."

HE doesn't speed up production in general.

By "in general" I don't mean for everything you build after it, I mean "not specific to" the item you are currently building.

For example, in general being lighter or stronger allows you to run faster. This is a generality. It doesn't apply in every case, e.g. if you're in a coma. But if you wake up from the coma, it will then apply to you.
