Bug reports and technical issues

I noticed a bug with holy shrines appearing, on example of Islam. Playing as Byzantium i moved some forces near an Arab's spawn spot and attacked when they appeared. I managed to beat them but they didn't disappear and on the next turn Babylon flipped and became their capitol. The point is that they had islam missionaries and started to spread it but in reality Islam never was created as it is normally and no shrine exists(as on pics, they built Mekkah a bit later). I saw it also once earlier, with christianity. Anyone has seen anything like this?

Sometimes, I've seen the holy city appear normally only to disappear several hundred years later. This also happens on other mods, such as SoI and RFCE, though rare.

Using SVN either 391 or 392, I decided to start as the Moors. That was a mistake. Here is what happened:

Updating to latest SVN, trying again.

When I select 'Play a scenario', there is no text that appear. Then I select 'Ok' and an error text appear, saying 'Failed to read worldbuilder file"" '... Do you guys know what happened?

That should correct the problem.

Standard questions: are you on BtS 3.19? Is the DoC folder in the right directory (...\Beyond the Sword\Mods\)? What happens when you start a scenario directly by double clicking on the scenario file in the PublicMaps folder?

IMO you should have DoC FAQ thread to cover things like :
- How to put the Mod in the correct directory with the right name
- How to install VD
- How to enable Phyton Exception
- How to install Blue Marble
- Buddhism Shrine
- Reformation
- "control X region" requirement
- Many more :)

Then ask the moderators to sticky it~
It's more easier to read and find, IMO, rather than "google"-ing through each thread

Actually, I've already done that. How to install the mod and BlueMarble is explained in the main mod thread (where it belongs), how to install VD is explained in the VD thread (where it belongs), how to enable Python exceptions is explained in the bug reports thread (where it belongs), and game related stuff is explained in the ingame documentation (where it belongs).

Yeah.. but it's pretty scattered :)
Unless you're frequently in the forum or a long-time lurker, it's quite hard to find the answers as you've to swing from threads to threads~

It's just IMO, actually. I never really find difficulties finding the answers, though.

It's probably scattered, but in general the information is in the threads that pertain to topics where the information would be needed, so it's not a problem in my opinion.

I am indeed on BtS 3.19 and my folder are at the right place. DoC actually works when I start the game via the Publicmaps folder, but I can't unselect my choice of scenario (can't go from 3000BC to 600 AC) nor go on the menu without the game crashing.

In the documents MODS folder, or the Program Files Mods folder. The later works for me even though I keep it in the documents one for easy access.

What version is your DoC?
If it's on SVN, you might want to clean the folder and update again..
If it's not, you should try delete all the file and re-install it.
And.. screenshots on your Mods folder, perhaps?

So even after complete reinstall of the whole game and new checkout, without changing anything in the whole game except enabling custom scenarios, just to make sure it's not my fault, I still get one independents with physics by turn 50 when playing the 3000 BC scenario using custom scenario option in the menu.
What puzzles me is, that I'm the only one with such problem

Did you change something to the BtS base game files?

im new to this forum and to this mod mod. i have no idea how to get it to work. when i try to load the mod from the main menu my game crashes. when i try to load a public map it says the mod is in the wrong folder and proceeds to load a regular game of civ even though im 90 percent sure it IS in the right folder. any suggestions

Nope, I did only this:
I've uninstalled and deleted all civ files (game folder and folder in documents), installed civ4 and bts, applied 3.19 patch, did checkout of doc, renamed the downloaded doc folder, allowed custom scenarios in the .ini and launched the game.

edit: also it may or may not be related to my problem by Poland starts in alliance with Mali
