Playing as China and got an error... Catholicism was never founded and the Byzantine never spawned (those events were supposed to happen after the error). The error occurred when Orthodoxy was founded.

The civics combination stability bonus/penalty needs some review, e.g. from the F3 screen it seems like Caste System + Meritocracy no longers gives stability penalty.

Meritocracy is useless IMO, I never adopt it as China, Centralism is way better. And Caste System is a must have for them, which is historically totally wrong.
 
This combination does not give a stability penalty anymore. The display uses the stability code directly. Is there anything else wrong or did you only assume it would?

I assumed it would, because... well it used to. I was suggesting there could be more civics combinations that affect stability, or fewer. I was also suggesting Meritocracy is the new most useless legitimacy civic now that vassalage is fixed. But that should be posted in another thread I suppose.
 
Okay, make a suggestion and I'll consider it.
 
After switching from coal to hydroelectric, power :yuck: drops from 12 to 4. Shouldn't it be completely eliminated or I'm missing something?
 
Power always has one unhealth. Dirty power from Coal Plants has additional unhealth.
 
The "declare war on !" text happens mostly to respawned civs as far as I can tell. Mexico, Austria and Iran are some examples.
Only renamed civs experience that problem. I've seen similar messages when Phoenicia is on the receiving end of a DoW.
 
I know about this problem, unfortunately haven't been able to fix it yet. Renaming player descriptions like this reaches deep into the game code (for some reason), so there might be hidden side effects. I'd like to do civ switching differently in the future so I haven't invested much effort into fixing it so far.
 
AI Italy defying the Collect Tithe resolution does not stop it from being carried out.

Do you know if Italy was affected? For resolutions that affect all members, defying does not cancel the resolution, but only cancels the effect for members that defy.

I don't know. Maybe Italy wasn't affected then.
 
I'm sure Italy has no culture whatsoever in Oslo. How come I can liberate the city to them?

I think you can always gift conquered cities to nearby vassals.
