Bug Reports and Technical Issues

Not sure if I am simply doing something wrong, but the discovery of Academia has not (as Spain, France, and now England) "gone off" for me or something. What I mean by that is I never am told if I switch the I get money and all my cities go Protestant. Issue is only with England. Did not want to switch as the former two as it is ahistorical (and I was playing Spain UHV)

Is this a bug? Or does it just not work the same way for the AI as to the player?
 
Hi, my ironclads are enlarged I dont know how to make them normal size, the bug happens when the ironclad is not selected.

I had the same issue recently, here's the answer that fixed my problems:
Your unit issues are caused by setting the unit quality setting to low - please use high, there is no reason not to on even remotely modern computers and graphics have no bearing on game performance. This setting exists for GPUs that were old even when the game originally released.


(Came here because I thought I found a bug; then checked while writing it down and found that the supicious effect was caused by another wonder. So... no bug.)

Here is a save file of the discovery of Academia...is there supposed to be a dialog box after it? I never got drawn into any religious wars as Spain or France too, while the AI all declared.

I think I figured it out. I have Random Events off. Would've figured it worked the same way as the Congresses, which worked fine with RE off. I guess maybe they should be on for all European civs. Is there a similar RE dialog box for the Great Schism?
 
Yes, I think those effects are both implemented through the random events system.

Please always tell me when you are playing with different settings than the mod ships with.
 
Im in the middle of a Rome game and got a wierd bug, I've been using WB to move cities a few tiles to ones I prefer. ancyra>iconium, >sur>damascus ext. Via the edit city command, move city and units.

I conquered sur and changed it to damascus and a few(not sure) turns later I get a notification saying damascus has attained legendary culture, found it a bit strange but moved on. Quite a few turns later I check out of curiosity and damascus has 729k
culture. I have a save from before I conqured sur and when I discovered the bug.

ver1.17 I played as China,when I only finished campass researching,but it noticed me my UHV “four great inventions” had completed.

Good afternoon, recurring crash while implementing 3 Tamils UHV. I use great merchant and after turning the game crashes. I'm attaching a save 1 turn before. If needed, I can upload earlier ones.

Hello! I have the same problem with Moorish UHV. If needed, i can uploap earlier save.
And i had the same Problem with the Egypt UHV, but save is on another laptop, if you need it, please say me.

Tibet, Regent, Epic speed: I have 3 cities however the UHV of 5 cities has been triggered.

Save attached is 1 turn before this, I placed both horses next to Delhi on turn 14 and captured it on turn 15.

Also, Tibet has a special unit which can enter rival territory without declaring war. To declare war to an independent civilization, you have to either use world builder or try to move another unit into their territory. This feels a bit tedious (I try to use an archer to walk into a mountain, but this is not always possible. And if its a passable tile, the archer will move and lose its defensive bonus). Maybe some food for thought on how to declare war on the minor civs, but no big issue.
 
Status update:
After reading through the discussion with Hafenguy about the same issue in the General Discussion thread, I tried loading the mod after starting vanilla BtS (which I didn't know was something you could actually do), and was able to get the mod to work. I can't comment on why he's getting a ctd on scenario start while I'm not, but working around a faulty shortcut (which, again, I'm blaming on Windows 11) is possible.

You can change the setttings to show minor civs in the score pane on the bottom right of the screen. Then you can use Alt + mouse click to declare war on even independant civs.
 
I got the Crusade even as Khmer against the Chinese, despite not being at war with them and having Hinduism as a state religion (it wanted me to conquer the Confucian holy city of Nanjing).

Hello again. I have the same problem with Polinesian UHV.
It is 5 UHV game with diffirent Civilisations, that i can't end.
Leoreth, how do you think, maybe it is not mod problem, but with my game version?
