Bug Reports and Technical Issues

That's strange, are you using any additional modules?

(I've got to reach these keeds ...)

Nope, no additional modules, got just CIV IV patched to the latest version, got BTS patched to latest version /3.19 I guess/, previous installment od DoC 1.11 went without any issues, I completly erased it from my CIV IV folder, then unpacked v1.12 there, 3000BC works fine, 600 AD and 1700 AD always CTD after the loading screen, I tried that Python exception ... it says "Unidentifiable C++ expetion" error. Sorry, not quite the technical guy am I :]

Does it give you some line numbers before it reports the C++ exception? If you have also enabled logging, you can look the messages up in Documents\My Games\Beyond the Sword\Logs\PythonErr.log in case they disappear too fast.

Is that PythonErr or PythonDbg?

Isn't there a PythonErr.log, without the 2?

... no PythonErr.log in my computer, searched it ... found only PythonErr2.log

I acquired more detailed error info, it says following:
Error in BeginGameTurn Event Handler < Bound Method CvRFCEventhandler.onBeginGameTurn of < CvRFCEventHandler.CvRFCEventHandler instance at 0x1a4c20D0

File RiseAndFall Line 2321 in ConvertSurroundingCities
File RiseAndFall Line 2070 in BirthFreeReligion
File RiseAndFall Line 1940 in initBirth
File RiseAndFall Line 1252 in CheckTurn
File CvRFCEventHandler Line 651 in onBeginGameTurn
File BugEventManager Line 400 in HandlerDefaultEvent

Will this help you? I really thank U for spending your time with "me"

Okay, there was an old bug related to this in older versions of the mod ... but I've never seen it appear so consistently before that loading entire scenarios becomes completely impossible.

Actually I got these by setting the python exception popups to 0 in Civ4config and playing the 3000BC scenario, which runs in spite of these errors ... U think it can somehow cause the problem with initiating 600AD and 1700AD scenario? I believe I'm the only one who reported this problem so far, as long as I remember I didn't find anyone else experiencing the same problem as me ... and I was looking for it over a longer time in this thread. Or could it be associated with my older hardware /but 1.11 worked well for me - all 3 scenarios/? I always have to be special, obeying the Murphy's law is my destiny

Yeah that's really unusual, which leads me to think that there is some problem on your end (I doubt it is hardware though), but I have no idea what it could be.

Two more questions please /since I really would love to play from 600AD and 1700AD/: do I need to have installed also Warlords in order to play DoC 1.12 /because I don't have currently/, do I need to erase also saved games from previous installments before unpacking the current one?

If not I will try to uninstall and reinstall the game totally as a last shot. If it still won't work then I'm going to wait patiently for 1.13 :smoke:

Thanx

Warlords isn't required, and outdated savegames are not a problem.

You are installing the mod into the Beyond the Sword\Mods\ folder, right?

If you don't want to wait for 1.13, you can also attempt the SVN version. Even for a non-technical person you should make it through my step by step guide :)

Which version are you using? 1.12, SVN revision?

Strange. Is updating to SVN an option?

Okay, it might be worth knowing if that fixes the problem.
